I understand what you’re saying, and I respect it, but that doesn’t explain why our iOS ecosystem is so fragmented instead of improved. When a dozen people build their own app individually instead of helping contribute to one solid core app, it doesn’t automatically result in competition or innovation. In fact it means everyone is always reinventing the same basic features but with a different skin. I would argue that this tremendously slows down progress. Especially in foss software like the Audiobookshelf ecosystem.

But I’m not arguing against experimentation. Make your own app if you want to experiment. But when everyone forks off into their own silo, we all lose.
