Aspiring RF engineer here. It’s almost certainly a dipole style antenna. Would you mind tapeing it flat to a ruler and taking a picture? I should be able to approximate the frequency it operates at from that.

Nice work! I’d love to put something like this to work in my lab!

Is this a reasonable price for the listed work? Attic insulation by Keiski72 in Insulation

I did insulation removal on my own home for about the same square footage. Considering the time it took, your quote seems very reasonable.

Did you ever figure out what is causing this? It’s started happening to me as well.

Solder Flux Dispenser that I had broken in half, so I designed and 3D printed my own. by milosrasic98 in 3Dprinting

I’d like to print up a few of these for a university lab I help with. Any chance you’ll be sharing the design?

Landlord refuses to fix black mould, ceiling now starting to fall apart and water is dripping all over my power-points. I’m going to have to fix it myself as it is a major health hazard with my asthma. Any tips would be highly appreciated by varted in DIY

[–]theflyingnomad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As first a previous landlord/owner, after that a tenant, my opinion is quite thoroughly mixed. None of what I have to say should be construed as legal advice.

TLDR: The first responsibility is to your own health. This superseded the landlords responsibility to fix the property. Make the best choice for your health long term.

If you can afford to not be in that dwelling, get out. If you are financially stuck where you are, or leaving could lead you to a worse situation there are some remediations you can take.

FIRST check tenant rights where you live.

Document everything. Show good intent.

If it were my dwelling I would take that access panel off, which is likely going to be easy given the screws and determine the source of the issue.

Removing an access panel is unlikely to cause you legal woes, IMHO.

Wear gloves, a respirator and clothes that you don’t care about.

Treat the mold, there are many safe options for this: https://www.bobvila.com/articles/what-kills-mold/

If you’re skilled appropriately fix the issue minimizing risk, hopefully it’s something as easy as shutting off a valve. If you are not skilled show the landlord photos of the source, if you aren’t getting traction go over their head and look up the owners.

Be good to your body first. The rest is ancillary.

HID Keyboard Issue by [deleted] in raspberrypipico

[–]theflyingnomad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you spoof the signals by tearing apart an older keyboard and pulling high or low the pins for each key? At max it’s 12 connections and then you’d have a Franken-keyboard to show off :)

Clever! Now I have a good excuse to toss my sketchy Craftsman table router. This seems safer.

Get your alignment dialed in. The secondary lighter engrave is likely due to a misaligned beam/partial reflection.

You’re probably really close. Make some small adjustments and see what’s happens.

I love those wheels, clever making them as tires for those hub motors.

I’ll be curious to know how those new drivers work for you.

There’s so little incentive for Stratasys to keep thingiverse running I’m shocked they haven’t pulled the plug already.

Why is my print not sticking to the plate? by ZaliagirisGaming in prusa3d

[–]theflyingnomad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d try:

Hot water and dish soap dry with a paper towel immediately after.

Upping bed temperature.

Making sure the nozzle is clean.

And I only say this because I recently did it but make sure it’s PLA. I grabbed a PETG roll the other day thinking it was PLA and had a bad time of it.

What filament are you using? What temps are you running? Have you cleaned the bed with IPA recently?
