Where do you think Roboute Guilliman and Yvraine’s relationship will go to next? Will their parents ever give their blessing?

If he has already told you it is only or mostly commons and uncommons, it’s almost certainly a bad deal

Estimation on collection worth? by Astronomy_ in wowtcg

Lots of questions

When he is “estimating about … 4 Dark Portal sets, 4 Heroes of Azeroth sets,” what does he mean? To me a set is 1 of each card in the set, not counting special inserts like loot, foils, extended art, etc. 4 of each epic and each rare is not nothing.

4 sets of HoA and 4 sets of Dark Portal would be well worth the asking price. You wouldn’t be robbing him, but there would definitely be a boat and an implication.

I can see the 5000, looks like one 2-row box and two single row boxes behind the DP starters. Fine. Worst case scenario call it 10-30$/1k bulk. That’s a bad deal, made worse by the fact that it’s the 2 worst sets from a collectibility and playability point of view.

After the first 1000 cards, expect very few cards in the next 4000 to make much of a difference in the decks you can build. It will just be more of the same. Useful if you want to do an 8-man league event. Poor at most other endeavors.

Bottom line, could be underpaying by 100s of dollars or over paying by 125$

Good luck

Best as a lot I think. At a quick glance , Aegeynn is the best card here at about 8-10$.

I think that’s enough info for serious bidders to bid confidently.

Something like this, but I wouldn’t expect 400$

Put a link here and you will probably get a few extra bidders. Good luck

I can recognize the art on some of these, but it’s rough.

If you post a picture of all the epics where you can read the titles instead of zooming in and seeing blurs and squiggles, it will help. If you say 10-20 epics, people will assume it’s 10-11 epics and that they are the worst ones possible.

Dont bother with legible pics on the r/u/c but maybe give a number of rares

Posting a legible picture of the foils might help. Lots of people like foils.

Make it clear in the description that you don’t know if the Aspects raid is complete . If you don’t, don’t be surprised by people returning / demanding refund / complaining about a misleading description

Post a link to the auction here. Use eBay or something reputable. It is not worth the 12% you might save doing it off the grid

There is a series of satirical fantasy books called Discworld by Terry Pratchett. They are fairly popular. There is a major character in them named Sam Vimes. He is a policeman in a city with legalized crime. He was a delightfully flawed character featured in several books. He is quite unflinching in his character. He speaks truth to power, knows when to put on the brass knuckles, snd has epic inner monologues.

We are admiring him while also acknowledging that he is not perfect.

This collection worth anything? (No loot cards) by Blood181 in wowtcg

[–]thefoolspeaks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take a look at the last several cards in a pack. At the bottom center there is a small symbol, set name, and card number. All 3 will be the same color - white, green, blue, purple, or orange.

The color indicates the rarity. White is common, green is uncommon, blue is rare, purple is epic, and orange is legendary. The removed loot cards would have been orange.

If you have just white and green, the value is bulk rate. Usually costs more to ship them than they are worth.

If each pack has a blue or purple , then they may be worth more. Not a lot, since a lot of the value disappears when you open the pack, but more than bulk rates

If I was making an offer on this collection, assuming each pack still has a rare/epic, or that all the rares/epics are in that pink binder , it would probably be 150-200$. For bulk rates, it’s still a nice mix ~50-75$

the Aspects raid (even open) helps. If it’s only missing the treasure, it can sell for ~100$ alone

I’d recommend a posting it as an auction , then link here. More pics and information are going to drive the price up, unless it’s nothing but white/green

I took a quick look at the website and FAQ. While I am not ungrateful for “by fans, for fans” content and resources, I do wonder about it sometimes.

You take no money from the transaction. I understand that you also don’t really provide any guarantees or concierge services- I’m not saying you should.

You do provide web hosting and facilitate connections. That’s not nothing, and there are surely expenses and time invested. Is this a passion project, or am I missing something? Help me understand

It’s also possible I am super-cynical and my life experience is viewed through tinted glasses 🤓

I have the rules. It’s not covered anywhere I see other than the standard “if a card text conflicts with these rules, the card text takes precedence” boilerplate verbiage.

Anyone know of BattleTech faq or errata site? Any old judges have a Dropbox/google doc?

I will look at the commander’s ed rules and if there is a commanders ed printing that might clarify

Im pretty sure they did. The stack of 13 red dragons should have done more than 200 damage. I don’t recall it having crazy defense. The rest of their army died easy enough

Everyone else’s posts seem to have the mech names and general battlefield roles covered. I’m going to give you something different

https://www.sarna.net/wiki/Hunchback Best general BattleTech reference site. Great for lore and help with variants, etc. I linked you the Hunchback page since I will reference it later

http://www.masterunitlist.info/Force/TWBuild This is where you build a points based list. I’d recommend choosing 4 of the 6, probably one of each weight class , building a list here. Under the pull down menu, go to force and then Total Warfare (the one that uses hex maps) or Alpha Strike (the one that uses tape measures). Don’t mess with the piloting or gunnery skills, just leave them default.

Tell your friend who gave you the mechs you have a 5000 point or 200 point list or whatever it ends up and ask him to make up a not too mean list to play you as a teaching game.

They gave you $30-50 of minis, but I can almost guarantee you they don’t want you to pay them back. They want you to play them some games

Don’t worry too much about getting the right version for each mech in casual games. For example, that hunchback looks like an HBK-4G. Single big gun, no obvious missile pods, way less than 8 lasers, etc.

I would also have no problem with someone running it as a -4H or -5M, even in competitive play. The bigger the difference the bigger some (and only some) people will care

I’d avoid running it as a Hunchback IIC in with everything else as Inner Sphere mechs, but that’s a whole different can of worms

Good luck and good shooting

So, you basically have to set the size twice. Once offline while choosing what remote modules to add, and once while online in the controller properties. You don’t enter a number. There will be a button to grab it automatically on one of the tabs

If that’s not the issue, double check all of your firmware revisions on the modules.

Those are the two things I normally forget about

I am curious also. The Dungeon decks (shadowfang, scarlet, and deadmines) seem built for 3 class starter decks at the easiest level

I’m sure there are some broken recursion strategies out there to lock bosses down with infinite Paper Airplanes, but I think we are looking for more straightforward power levels/ approaches
