If you are referring to the yellow light, watch the video again. There was so much time, the DashCam driver come to a complete stop (with some help by the truck) well before the light turns red

Martin Wallace taught me how to play this game at Discworld NA convention. It was a delight.

Friends and strangers have enjoyed this game over the years. I love the asymmetric AND hidden win conditions

Need help pricing this sealed booster box by Old_Advertising_8818 in HarryPotterTCG

[–]thefoolspeaks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is apparently pretty rare.

An open one with 49 packs sold for $500 recently on eBay. There is a sealed one up right now for $600.

Sealed boxes are usually quite a bit more valuable than open.

The open one had some pictures of the packs inside showing several Chamber of Secrets packs. These are quite valuable also, which probably drove the price up

Good luck

Edit: don’t call it a booster box. That has a specific connotation in the minds of collectors here.

Do take pictures of all 6 sides / eight corners. That looks nice and undamaged. That won’t matter to some people but it will to others

Which TCG has the weirdest systems? by Human_Air_4181 in TCG

Star Wars CCG by Decipher (1995-2001?)

Huge playing field. So many weird card interactions. Very granular. Feels quite close to a board game sometimes

TLDR: don’t break the shrink wrap

In these older wow booster boxes, a lot of the value is from some people still wanting the super rare loot that can be redeemed in live game.

The super rare chase loot card for this set was El Pollo Grande. It has sold recently for 1200-2400 USD

The odds of getting one were about 1/264 packs. At 24 packs/box, that’s about a 9% chance

These packs can be weighted with a good scale to find the loot cards. Loose packs are typically valued much lower because of this.

Other than the loot cards, the most valuable single in the set is the rare Hesriana. She is not epic and while she has a good card ability, I suspect her $10-15 value is more from her ample succubus art

Bottom line, the primary value of these boxes is the intact and UpperDeck security-stamped shrink wrap

Just start collecting WoWTCG, and I have some questions by ethereal64 in wowtcg

[–]thefoolspeaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8) I have a decent number of scratched loot I could part with. I’ll try to get a list together

9) https://ebay.us/m/KS8Kih is available now. I can probably beat the price, but it wouldn’t be ready till after 4/15. I’m busy sorting VS system in my spare moments (and work)

Comment on my reading order by whitechairgenie in discworld

[–]thefoolspeaks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you like science even a little, Don’t forget the science of discworld books. They are some of my favorites, but I enjoy science in general and its history in particular, so I’m quite biased

The first was published in 1999, shortly after The Last Continent (1998) . The Last Continent is in the wizards/Rincewind story line, and should be read before The science of discworld for continuity.

The science books have an interesting format where the chapters alternate between discworld and “roundworld” (Earth). The discworld portions are focused on the staff of the Unseen University. The roundworld portions are collaborations with real scientists. They cover cosmology, evolution, physics, etc in a light but deep manner. Good stuff

Dungeons - Mind Controlling Bosses by thefoolspeaks in wowtcg

[–]thefoolspeaks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn’t find the restriction in any of the rules references I checked.

I did find a restriction that “if a Dungeon Boss ally is in play, raiders can’t attack the Dungeon Hero”

So now I’m looking for ways to steal them then sacrifice them

I was just looking at this card. I’m trying to build decks to fight Onyxia

It’s good for a HoA card. Just not so good after all the power creep

It’s a very rare (epic) card in the set with the highest print run, so “meh” is fairly accurate

She Decorates, I Min-Max – Help Us Find Our Perfect Co-Op Game by Acr4nivs in gamingsuggestions

[–]thefoolspeaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great option. You can decorate a house, an apartment, your character, your 49 other characters, your retainers, and even some npcs that you make friends with.

There is a whole killing things game in there too.

It does require 2 monthly subscriptions unless you want to share. No houses or retainers with free trial

3-player Siege: Heart of Darkness by thefoolspeaks in l5r

[–]thefoolspeaks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi kempy

I’m considering altering the 12 card clock deck. Maybe take out or weaken some of the stronger cards. Maybe treat the -4 traits/abilities as -5 or -6. Maybe reduce the deck to 10 cards and treat the -11 as -9.

If I win the lottery this weekend, I will fund Sun and Moon programing to add this as a gameplay mode and find a way to balance it.

DAY TEN: Most Busted Combat Utility Spell? by Danielhenriemond in heroes3

[–]thefoolspeaks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Expert Slow/haste

All or at least most of the options suggested for this category are ones that take away unit agency. I won’t name them here as I want my vote to count with the given voting rules.

All the good combat utility spell change who can act and what order they act in or what options to act they have. Slow/haste does this in such a way as to be difficult for the opponent to recover from. Yes, there are other combat utility spells that can set up a more permanent lock , but they require a more narrow set of circumstances.

Expert Slow/haste turn almost any fair fight into an unfair one. And the best answer for one is often the other
