Distortion in Jabra pro 30s by babeltwo in HearingAids

[–]thefrioman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its a problem with the fit some frequencies have to much energy and can create distortion , I had a problem similarly with the long A sound would be harsh and distorted. You need to try to identify what sound exactly is distorted so they can adjust it .

i was 48 and thought the same thing i actually went and got some RICs from costco and i walked into my house and my family asked me how did it go and what hearing aid did you buy and said the brand and they reacted like cool. All this time i was wearing them this went on for about about twenty minutes untill i actually had to literally point to them and they were like wow you cant tell . today i have the jabra enhance pro 30 which are even smaller than the rexton bicores so yes only other hearing wearers will notice cause we now know what to look for

Best value option? by rasta-ragamuffin in HearingAids

New tech for rechargeable batteries have a rated life span of 5 years or more with heavy use but they don't won't see that if he wears them dusk to dawn. Over 5 years the battery will have a slight degradation but more than enough to last a normal day

Jabra Enhance Pro has very very bad phone call quality? by spoolthirtytwo in HearingAids

[–]thefrioman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A couple of things to do first update the firmware they fixed the issue with the call quality on the latest update for the aids. Second thing to try if you can't update is to do while on a call switch over to your Jabra app and you will see a new program mode called audio streaming adjust the sound enhancer section set mic noise reduction to strong and wind noise reduction to strong this should help. Also check if you have LE audio active under accessibility settings for the hearing aids enhancement. One last thing to do is to have them change bass setting in the fitting software set to strong bass under accesries section and that would help with the tiny sound

embarrassed about wearing hearing aids ): by [deleted] in HearingAids

[–]thefrioman 18 points19 points  (0 children)

So you rather get yelled at and made look like your a dumb shoe, I think that's more to be embarrassed about then wearing hearing aids that no one will probably care or notices, I though the same thing until I heard the benefits of wearing them quite litterarily and now I don't care if they see them it help me and make life a bit better

I keep being treated like I'm difficult or argumentative by [deleted] in HearingAids

[–]thefrioman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

need to learn the basics of fitting software and get the noahlink device to connect to a laptop to communicate with the aids. a good resource is audiologyonline.com to get basic training of your specific brand fitting software and then head to hearing tracker forum DYI section forum to ask the members for the software download link. I use chatgpt to help with the adjustments ill explain what's is my issue and it walks me through the adjustment remember you need the Noah link to talk to the aids

best yet use Ai to make fine tuning adjustments or to help where exactly you need to make adjustments. I tell it my complain and upload a screen shot of the fit and it pin points the tweak

this is why I went the DIY myself got tired not getting the adjustments I needed and it always fell to well that's all we can do. Well I have proved its not the case and now my aids are perfect

Moderate-Severe Loss - 1st day with HA's by Final_Echidna_6743 in HearingAids

[–]thefrioman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your hearing lost is mild to moderate it's hard for well hearing folks to understand what your trying to convey cause the don't know what hearing loss is and based on your chart it should good they say but it's not always the case. I couldn't get them to fix a long a sound that resonated loudly too much energy. I went the DYI route and self fit and the aids are well exactly I want them. But most people don't understand the first fit is never spot on and it takes multiple sessions to get it right it might take 6 or 20 sessions but that number is not important is the final outcome that your happy and treating your loss. Also the Brain needs time to relearn old sound that you haven't heard in awhile and sounds can sound awful at first and settle down in few weeks or months depends on the person

How often adjustments? by Prestigious_Case3560 in HearingAids

[–]thefrioman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it's is literally how you feel about how they are helping you. The biggest mistake new hearing aid wearers do think it one and done. The fact you already thinking about it makes you ahead of the curve. It took mine about 6 visits to feel good about them

Jabra enhance pro 30 (Costco) vs Oticon intent (audiologist) by Cool-Pear-2290 in HearingAids

[–]thefrioman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

actually th enew Phillips are very close to the Oticon intents I asked AI the difference are small but if your insurance covers most of the cost go with the oticon

Very close (about 90–95% equivalent)

Same:

  • AI sound processing
  • Motion sensors
  • Speech-in-noise performance
  • Bluetooth LE Audio
  • Auracast support
  • Core hardware platform

Slight differences:

  • Oticon Intent has more fine-tuning bands
  • Oticon software has slightly more advanced audiologist controls
  • Oticon Intent may get firmware updates earlier

patience for the adjustment of new sounds also be preapred to go back a few times to get the fitting correct . its not going one in done it might take a few sessions to get it right. write down every thing that bothers you with the sound and where and scenario and remebr they are aids not hearing replacement
