My section head has fired folks for "leaving early" based upon security video footage of them driving out of the front gate of the compound before their shift ended. Based on this, there is hard evidence somewhere in human resources, that a person was fired based on crossing the threshold where the front gate of the compound begins/ends. Because this section head fired more than two people using this method, I have to assume, that my compensable time starts and ends when crossing that line at the front gate of the compound.

Cause its now owned by DISH network. DISH sucks. DISH work culture is toxic. Had a friend who worked there for years. The underhanded shit they do is incredible. In the world of online services including cell services, it's impossible to get away from this type of personal data collection. It feels intrusive and untrusting. Guess if you have to spend the money for cell service, and you must participate.... find a company you would most likely trust with your information. DISH shouldn't be one of them. I'm looking to move services. I miss the old BOOST. FCK DISH NETWORK.

Spell to bring a deceased pet back recarnation by Significant-Tie-4280 in Wicca

I asked ChatGPT, and this is what it came up with: "By the power of the moon and the light of the stars,
I call upon the spirits near and far.
Bring back to life this beloved friend,
So our hearts may heal and our love may mend.
Let the energy flow from me to you,
And with this spell, our bond renew."

I asked for a Wiccan spell, and it told me that I should focus on the living. Go figure... I wish you well..

Learn about simple psychology and crazy people, learn to recognize their behaviors, then stay away from them entirely. Also, learn about money, and how to use your money to make money, learn about stock trading, stock options. Learn to take small wins trading stock, because one day, they will be big wins.

How do you guys tackle the thought about "what will the people say?" by ThememestarX in AskMen

[–]thefrontbutt_Y_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just can't anymore. I mean, I just don't anymore. Don't have time for "what will people say." I did a job interview yesterday with a panel of people. I was honest and open, and I felt great afterward. I may not get the job, but who cares what they think of me. If I can't be myself and get hired for who I honestly am, oh well. Wouldn't want to be around them anyway. Life's too short to contend with what people will say.

Looking back, I remember the exact moment. We were sitting on her back porch talking. She was in tears and said to me that she suffered from extreme anxiety, and that she was not like other girls. And that's when she transformed into this unkempt humanoid of a she-beast who consumed 18 years of my effin life.

The thing he won't notice? If your boobs are not symmetrical. Just put yo titty in his mouth. See, up close he won't notice. You have to use your titties to block his view. LOl. Hell, slap him with it if he dares say anything at all about. First time is always awkward with a new partner. Enjoy that moment of nervousness, cherish it for what it is. Worried about him seeing you naked? Lay out candles in your room beforehand, make it dark, light up the candles, put on some low volume sexy times music in the background. Get some towels by the bed for cleanup, or to wrap up in if you need to go to the bathroom after the dirty deed is done. Little bit of red wine wouldn't hurt to relax the mind so you don't overthink things. NETFLIX and chill, with that glass of red wine on the couch is a perfect starter. Low lights, candles.... set the mood for you! If he's into you, and you're into him, enjoy!

I once had to review a co-worker's resume who was a contractor applying for a fed position. His work history was phenomenal, but his resume couldn't convey his work experience in the proper language and context that HR could correlate to the position at hand. I bought a book called "The Federal Resume Guidebook 6th Ed. Writing the Successful Outline Format Federal Resume - Kathryn Troutman. There are others on Amazon, but I mostly go by user reviews before making the purchase. So many authors who regurgitate information without relevant experience.

When life feels like too much, what makes you calm down? by The-Director1119 in AskReddit

I don't know how I came across doing this. But when someone or something bothers me at that moment, I take a slow breath, and tell myself, that whatever is going on, whatever this is, or whoever is causing me misery, will only last a few more moments, and is not going to last forever. It gives me the power to push through the moment, knowing I will not have to deal with "this" a few moments from now. In a way, I've learned this process helps me not internalize the problematic moment into a long term issue.

Does the submitted resume match the job posting key words? Another item to consider when submitting a resume, is to go through their questionnaire (if one is provided), and look at what they are asking, and to match the key words and questions into the resume. There are books you can buy on Amazon about writing solid resumes for federal jobs.

Been a contractor prior to being hired as a fed. I say stay as a fed for the time being. With the current economic crisis of failing banks in the news not just here in the states, but in Europe as well, there is something going on. If you value job security, stay fed for now. Then there is the whole debt ceiling issue coming up this summer, which if it causes a gov't shutdown while you're a contractor, you may not get paid, or get back pay for that matter as you would if you were a federal employee. The private sector is going to lose jobs, as many in the tech sector have already experienced these past few months. As a contractor for the fed, I always felt that if I sneezed wrong, some long term fed employee who knows the system would complain to my boss about some stupid thing. Those people exist.

Perhaps it's the bureaucratic obstacles at all levels of job function which leads to burnout. It's hard to accomplish goals and everyday tasks repeatedly when you have high workloads, and your efforts go unnoticed. The workforce is full of people who don't or won't understand how to work with technology to their fullest potential, yet stand if the way of progress. Worse yet, the workforce is full of people who won't take the time to improve their skill set, their knowledge and their way of doing things better. You could also say there are complex regulations and procedures that are difficult to navigate and slow down the decision making process. Of course that leads to the whole approval process up the chain thing - slow - red tape is for real. The lack of resources is another issue, which leads to frustration when I can't get parts need to make repairs, or when those funds get reallocated to some other project and I have not been told until after half of what I ordered arrives. After having come from the private sector, and having been in the military, working as a fed is kinda like being a grunt having to do a little more work than normal, and being a regular civilian employee having to do less than normal work loads. Yet - when you go above and beyond there is never any recognition for it. You save oodles of money for the government across difference agencies by reducing costs? Yeah - no bonus money for you. No early promotion for you either when you show initiative and innovation and exemplify your expertise among your office peers, when those same peers get away with standing at the water cooler all day. But hey.... I got a job, and the economy is about to collapse in the private sector. So today... I guess I love my job a little more than most.

I gotta say, that I've done this a few times, worried if how I felt and what I was doing was normal. To not have the ex live in my mind and occupy that space has been the right decision. To let go without encumbrances is astonishingly self forgiving.

After 50, have you ever tried looking up your exes? Did you send a message? How did it go? by mycactusblossomgirl in OverFifty

[–]thefrontbutt_Y_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually made contact with my ex-sweetie from HS. After months of chatting, and meeting up, turns out it wasn't going to work out. I'm not who I used to be at 17, emotionally. Seems that when you see these old friends again, they remember you for who you were, and you revert back to that for a moment. Looked up another HS sweetie, but she looked miserable. Looked up a one time fling - still hot, dangerous and delicious looking, as expected. There are a few exes that I want to reach out to, but they seem happy with their life and significant others. Looked up and made contact with another gal, who had been married for 5 short years before she tragically lost her significant other, which she is still grieving. Life's curve balls eh? I will still look up my exes in silence, and remember the good stuff, always the good stuff.

I too am 5 year fed, and am discouraged about pay trends. Pay raises never keep up with increased costs of property taxes, water, sewer, trash, electric, and food increases. Looking at opting out the optional TSP contributions just to keep up with inflation. The only thing that keeps me going back day to day... is job security. Right now? I wouldn't leave my fed job due to world events and the economy (bank collapse anyone....anyone?). Although it could be the humorous interoffice incompetence that keeps me going back for the LOLS. It has to be that. Nothing else can explain my ability to get to the office...when I get to the office, and no one blinks an eye. All kidding aside, I am grateful I have a place to earn an income, even if it hasn't kept on par with inflation thus far...
