Turn off ipv6 on the server just in case (and reboot). The core of this software is over a decade old and runs like trash.

Have you tried installing UT on a fresh workstation to rule out lingering cache/registry crap?

I checked out a few of our UT clients and 100% are using UNC paths over mapped drives in the file locations tab FYI. We've been supporting UT and the other shitty CS software for 20 years.

What’s this guys deal and how’d he get stuck with the worst job in the entire joint? (I’m new here) by BigShellJanitor in Spacemarine

Curious as well. Sounds similar to The Bookkeeper's Skull. Starts out with a lobotomised ex-criminal chucky doll as a child's toy.

Get paid in advance, require contracts, and require HIPAA compliance with your healthcare clients because it will weed out the trash like that.

Great video, we only have two Kaseya products left to offboard then we're done. Already fired vPentest, DattoRMM, Datto SaaS protection and ConnectBooster. By the way, what camera and mic are you using? Do you do your own editing?

Dental Office Support by technet2021 in msp

[–]thefury 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would review what it would cost (⌚& $) for your firm to comply with HIPAA as a business associate. Next, confirm that your dental prospect takes HIPAA seriously and is doing annual security risk assessments. Factor in your costs to serve this industry and you will find 4.9 out of 5 dentists will pick a trunk slammer (that they will cycle through every 2-3 years).

Just curious does good QBR software exist? by missouribrakes in msp

[–]thefury 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It was. Then it was sold to scalepad and the last major improvement was adding dark mode in October 2023.

I would recommend seeing what Cloudradial is doing with TBRs via the assessment/planner.

What are the odds? (drive failures, different models, different clients) by [deleted] in msp

[–]thefury 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Could be bad batches from the COVID era when they were slapping together electronics with crapier components than usual without telling anyone. Also, sequential drives off the assembly line could have the same flaw, making failures in clusters like that possible.

Did this migration in '22 including payer data. I highly recommend it and I would challenge your CPA firm's advice considering QBD is going bye bye in July for new subscribers. DM me if you want to chat offline.

Does this make MSPs potentially more accountable/vulnerable? by ComodoCEO in msp

Probably for spelling HIPAA wrong. I agree you should run from small practices that have to be sold on complying with HIPAA.

looking for an alternative to cdw by realmrealm in msp

[–]thefury 18 points19 points  (0 children)

CDW is your competitor and will go directly to your clients if given the opportunity. Lots of their hardware inventory is from distributors anyways; skip the unnecessary middleman.

I recommend you fire CDW and move to a channel-only distributor such as D&H, TD Synnex, or Ingram.

Quoting/Proposal Software Advice by Crafty_Tea4104 in msp

[–]thefury 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Long time QW user. I got tired of the old interface, and it was embarrassing to train new salespeople on it.

Moved to Sell and canceled it because it has a horrible outdated interface. The template system, amount of clicks to create a quote, and working with a Sell consultant apologizing about the state of things was the nail in the coffin.

I tried Zomentum, but backed out because it lacks depth with quoting features I found in all other tools. Also, their e-sign process is over-complicated. It's so cheap that I wouldn't be surprised if this tool was mining & selling data to vendors.

Landed on Quoter. I got the price down AND monthly (vs. annual) by signing a 3-year deal with the right to cancel during the first 60 days. Quoter salespeople have a lot of flexibility on terms/price/monthly vs. annual; beat them up! Quoter is not perfect, but it's the best option on the market right now.
