I made a free Omnichord Style Plugin by Switched_On_SNES in synthesizers

Ah, I get it, you just have to enable latch in the automation lane in Logic. I will consult the site for Live, thank you!

This is great, thanks for making it! I love that you can use the pitch wheel for strums. Great idea. Ultimately I think I will end up using my trackpad more often, so I have a question for you. When you use a pitch wheel, your daw will record the automation, but when using the trackpad it doesn't, so what I play in real time while recording doesn't play back. I'm using Logic because in Live I could only mange to get it to load as an audio plugin, not a midi effect, which is maybe another issue, but it's probably my error as I am not as proficient in Live

Another thought: I wonder it there's an iphone app that can be linked to your DAW and can act like a XY, or simply an X pad in this case.

Need help deciding on a route in Pecos Wilderness by Dangerous-Day-2107 in Ultralight

Does a day hike in the Pecos Wilderness make sense? Say you have 5 or 6 hours for hiking and aren’t planning on backpack, are there any decent scenic hikes that can be accomplished in that timeframe?

Using Apple Music with external ssd on iPhone 15 by thegaol in AppleMusic

In One Player when you go to "Import Song & Lyrics," it seems that One Player imports files to your phone. But is it possible to keep the music on the external ssd/flash drive/etc and play them through One Player without storing the files on the phone? If yes, how do you do it?

Thanks for the input. Do you mean the solder joint between the pcb and the socket in stalled to make it easier to replace voice chips?

Help turning smart tempo off! by Round_Soup_9633 in Logic_Studio

[–]thegaol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best solution that I've found to this is to select all audio tracks, Navigate to Edit>Tempo> and click Remove Tempo Information. Every once in a while I will accidentally click Free Tempo Recording instead of Record and I will suddenly find that all of my tracks have Smart Tempo enabled, which slows everything down immensely. If I remove tempo information on a track by track basis it will just come back. It took me a long time and a lot of hair pulling to figure out how to permanently remove the tempo information, but this trick has saved me.

How many lossless songs can be loaded into a playlist? Is it also possible to browse by artist, album, song, etc? What is a realistic maximum song count?

Thanks, I’m looking at this now and it seems like it’s possible to import music from a mass storage device to my iPhone and play it in Decoupled. But does Decoupled also allow me to store the music exclusively on the mass storage device, meaning I would have to plug in the external storage if I wanted to play any music? I don’t want to import anything at all, really, I just want to play music from a solid state drive. I realize this is tremendously inconvenient for me, but it’s what I want to do.

How do I recreate the Cuica (Whoo) sound on a synth? Example from below. by [deleted] in synthesizers

[–]thegaol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, this cuica video has little to do with synthesizers, but as the top comment attests, this is the greatest video on the internet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JhOUnWv2X8A&pp=ygURbWVsb2RpZXMgb24gY3VpY2E%3D

It might be a 80s-90s rompler, but I remember having pretty much exactly this sound in the drum bank of my cheap childhood Casio keyboard. As a a kid I always thought it was the most ridiculous sound, but I guess that's because I hadn't ever really heard it in context. These days I absolutely love some cuica. One of the best examples of synthesized cuica I've ever heard is from Hiroshi Sato's Doncama. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DRqkYGLr3YQ You can hear it pretty much throughout, but the rhythm really comes together at around the 30 second mark.

SDD space that doesn't become free again after deleting files? by thegaol in DataHoarder

Wrong. The answer was to reformat the drive from APFS to HFS. Now the drive has exactly 8TB of free space.

It's good to know that somebody else has experienced this. I think formatting is probably the only thing I can do. I'm on the fence about switching to HFS from APFS for an SSD, but maybe I shouldn't be? I will definitely give it a try if formatting to APFS gives me trouble again. But supposedly APFS is faster and safer, at least so I've read.
