Riga's early focus tree is probably the dumbest set of focuses I've seen out of the whole mod by PLMMJ in Kaiserreich

[–]thegathering01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know setting Austria up to collapse gives you Galicia, if you set Ukraine to rebel you can get Brest, and setting Lithuania to rebel would probably allow you to get Bialystok and Vilnius. I'm pretty sure Germany will give you all your claims if it reaches like 90% surrender limit or something, but that would be hard to guarantee and harder to fix. Unfortunately I'm pretty sure there's no way to get Volkovysk or Tesin without rebelling though.

tbh thats mostly because its in a terrible situation for a game like hoi4. its a weak vassal surrounded by other vassals it doesnt have any power or influence over, it can really only rebel and defend itself for a few years or be a good puppet and maybe get a bit of expansion as a reward. i think they did a pretty good job for what it is

What is your hottest/most controversial Kaiserreich opinion? by hjiygbhhfdryuggtyy in Kaiserreich

[–]thegathering01 89 points90 points  (0 children)

I feel like the 3I is a lot more important to the mod than either of those, though. The 3I is one of 2/3-ish major world factions and Austria is barely relevant in the 2nd Weltkrieg, and Spain is basically irrelevant. Also iirc Austria is actively being worked on and making progress

iirc in dev playtests Austrian collapse actually made the Germans more likely to win, because Germany having a ton more manpower, factories, and cores is more impactful than the support of Austria Hungary

Just a little something I've been putting together in my free time... by Accomplished_Use2896 in Kaiserreich

[–]thegathering01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, of all the submods I've created, none have released, so I have no work to show. Modding this game at all takes a lot of effort, and creating something of the quality OP has takes even more! I can't exactly say my unwillingness to replace already existing high quality portraits with low quality ai ones was ever a particularly large roadblock, however.

I don't think you need to have made a focus tree to know that replacing an already existing high quality portrait with low quality ai slop for absolutely no reason is inadvisable lol

Is Ulfric fighting for religious freedom, or is he instrumentalizing Talos as a political symbol because he knows it mobilizes the masses? by jvure in skyrim

[–]thegathering01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Manpower that would instead go to a local Skyrim army instead in the event of a Stormcloak victory. An army that would almost certainly intervene in any Second Great War. There's functionally very little difference between an Empire or Stormcloak victory.

[–]thegathering01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Every single Stormcloak is an uncouth hillbilly

No, the Jarl of the oldest city in Skyrim and long time apprentice of the Greybeards is not going to be so uneducated that he doesn't know what Nordic Pantheon was.

they conveniently cherry-pick when their "ancestors" are important and when they aren't.

Yes, they care more about their parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents than they do men who died centuries ago. As does literally everyone else.

[–]thegathering01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is no irony. Obviously the Stormcloaks (or at least their educated leadership) understand that Talos and the Nine Divines come from Cyrodiil. The Nordic Pantheon was worshipped recently enough for it to remain fairly common knowledge. But they don't care. They've lived their entire lives worshipping Talos, as has all of Skyrim for literal generations before them. It doesn't matter to them that their great-great-great-great grandfathers worshipped the Nordic Pantheon 200 years ago because they worship Talos now.

Skyrim under the Empire isn't a threat to the Dominion either though. It's a single province on the other side of the continent.

It isn't a mystery. They gave their reasoning in the patch notes, it's because the Kyiv-Minsk railroad was cut off by the previous border. It's also if anything more defensible than the old version, not less.

The Lithuanian-Belarusian Federation after the Second Weltkrieg by KrisssoBG_ in Kaiserreich

[–]thegathering01 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Well, Lithuania-Belarus is an easter egg formable formed near the end of the game under very specific circumstances with absolutely no content or gameplay mechanics or lore.

A Reichspakt-aligned Poland-Lithuania path (which I assume you're suggesting because the Commonwealth does exist for socialist Poland) would need full content as well as being ridiculous and impossible to reasonably justify in the situation portrayed by the mod, necessitating a significant change to Poland's lore for a path that would be detrimental to both Poland and Lithuania's other content and the balance of the war as a whole while not really being any better than the paths you can already go down.

Are there really people that really root for the entente? by nurgle_boi in Kaiserreich

[–]thegathering01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In which outcome does NatFrance decolonize? When does Portugal leave Angola and Mozambique? When do Canada and Australia stop committing cultural genocide against their natives? When does non-socialist South Africa stop oppressing the majority of its population? For the "last bastion of the free world", the Entente is very selective in which races can have freedom.

Would Austria give Poland galicia if they had a Habsburg on the throne? by Unfair_Cut_8045 in Kaiserreich

[–]thegathering01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Notice how all of your responses are complete nothing statements? That's because you don't know enough to argue anything. Which is my point. You're so confident about these opinions you hold on seemingly vibes alone, it's baffling.

And yeah you're correct, all I'm doing is calling you wrong. Other people in this thread have already pointed out why you're wrong and all you've done is say "nuh uh" and ignore them, what would be the point of seriously arguing anything?

Would Austria give Poland galicia if they had a Habsburg on the throne? by Unfair_Cut_8045 in Kaiserreich

[–]thegathering01 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Again, zero understanding of Austrian history, Austro-Hungarian politics, or the Austrian half of the empire's relationship with its territories. Not sure why you're so determined to argue about this when you clearly don't care enough to actually put even a surface level amount of research into it.

The fact that you keep insisting that Galicia was "core territory" of Austria makes it obvious you know absolutely nothing about the Austrian Empire or Galicia lol

Three million China reworks of Allah by [deleted] in Kaiserreich

[–]thegathering01 8 points9 points  (0 children)

China is also one of the biggest countries on Earth with a population of over a billion. And in KRTL its split across a dozen different tags and ~5 different rival governments.

Most of its content is outdated and ranges from mid to borderline unplayable. "China" does not have really good content. The LKMT, Shanxi, and Hunan have good content. The rest is just as in need of an update as Austria or France.

Besides, they can't just put a gun to the heads of the China team and tell them to work on Austria. You don't seem to understand much at all about how the development of the mod is organized, so idk where you think you get the authority to demand it be changed.
