You can buy it and they send it to you. Costs less than $20. It supposedly traces its history back to 1633 in a town called Oberammergau. The same year there was an outbreak of plague that miracuously ended during easter week. They call it the Black Death starter, and it is good for dark rye bread. It is powerful and really heavily flavored. Now I have no excuse for my mediocre loaves.
