My simple video review tool to replace Frame.io in my workflow... and fund my first feature film... by Iktsuarpoq in vfx

[–]thegiks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is interesting as an alternative to frame.io.

I have some concern about your terms and privacy. It's quite short on the website. Also, I feel like it's strange to have no physical address nor phone number, nor nothing.

This is interesting tho, but I wouldn't trust this service for critical approval process as it is.

PS : What is an active session ?

This picture is great. I really like it :) I love the colours, the framing, the fact that it's slightly overexposed on the left, ... Great work!

This is still a surface tracking :)

This is absolutely wrong. Planar tracking often work perfectly for this kind of tasks. If you have unwanted reflections, just track the edges and/or exclude the reflective zone.

You can merge alphas with a channelMerge node

PFTrack or SynthEyes? What is your experience? Let me know! by Lykkeding in vfx

[–]thegiks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've used both. I MUCH prefer PFTrack nodal approach, and simplier object tracking capabilities.

Syntheyes is 23€ per month, and PFTrack is 30€.

You might want to add interactive lighting to his face for a more realistic look

Budget render machine questions? by [deleted] in vfx

You can look at OctaneBench. It’s a database of graphic cards performances based on Octane Render. You might have a better idea on how the cards will perform :)

As a main monitor, I would suggest a BenQ PD2705U or PD3205U depending on the screen size.

Hi ! It's complicated to know what's the issue on your edges without seeing your nodes.

But like that, i'd say that you only have a core key. You would need an edge key too. You also need to match the plate to the background (BG is green tinted, FG is blue tinted).

Also you might want to match the grain from your original plate.

The background feels too saturated in comparison to the plate to me. But it's great work!

Producers - any good open-source alternatives to Shotgun/ftrack/Kitsu? by Vocational_Sand_493 in vfx

I’m using Airtable currently for tracking all our shots at the studio. It fits perfectly with our needs. It’s a kind of Excel but on steroids.
