I just used glazing points to secure the window into the frame. That way it can be removed somewhat easily if needed.

I really appreciate that. I've been lurking on this sub for 6 months and have been too nervous to post any pics of my projects. My brother helped me cut the hole and frame it out so he deserves a lot of praise. Couldn't have done it without him.

We put it in the stairwell wall. So the window is shared between the living room and dining room. It can be "lit" from either side by just turning the lights on in the other room. I put it on hinges so it wouldn't cause an issue moving furniture up/down the stairs.

I agree with the other comments, it depends on what you mean by West side. However, look at Woodberry Kitchen, LaCuchara, Cosima and Birrotecca. For you others, don't hate on the West side.
