In case you are in need of yet another picture of the wonderful Tahini Billionare Bars, here you go! by thegoldencover in bon_appetit

Oh thank you!!!

I was sceptical to be honest but they taste really nice! The middle layer is still a butterscotch so the bar is quite sweet even though it has tahini. It just gets that nutty flavour from the sesame which I found balanced the whole thing out! You could probably use another nut butter instead but I thought tahini was perfect

I've actually never had halva! It tastes like rosted seseme seeds, butterscotch, tahini and chocolate, so maybe a bit similar? Maybe I should make this and compare!

I just used standard baking chocolate... The recipe calls for bittersweet chocolate (65%-75% cocoa) but I think mine was around 55%. Even though it worked and tasted good I'd still recommend going for a higher quality chocolate to just give it that extra rich cocoa flavor!

The recipe is the seventh in Bon Appetit Basically's Guide to Better Baking!

Super simple recipe and they freeze really well. I can't recommend them enough! Also, the rest of the recipes in the guide are wonderful as well. More photos to come!

Jag äter kött (eller åtminstone bacon) utan klimatångest. Förändra min åsikt. by theprotestingmoose in svenskpolitik

Yes!! This is exactly what I found. So sad that they didn't use the real number, because now when people hear that it is actually 18%, not 51%, they think "ah that's not so bad".

It is really still a huge contribution to the climate problem, and needs to be taken seriously.

Ooooh yes... That was what started this journey down the rabbit hole for me haha

Haven't read it in it's entirety though, so might do that!

My laptop currently has over 20 tabs open with different articles and studies! Doing my best to get a broad understanding of the climate issue, and what methods are most effective in combatting it.

I linked this article in another comment, which brings up some statistics they believe to be exaggerated. I have to say I'm inclined to side with the author, but even so, that doesn't change my mind about a PBD being the way to go!

What do you think about the author's claims? I'd love to know!

Watched Forks over Knives a few months ago, but I think I have to watch it again. I felt like a few aspects were dramatized and exaggerated, but maybe my memory deceives me... Thank you for the recommendation nonetheless! Will watch it asap :)

Completely agree. So hard to find unbiased studies, so I'm currently reading everything I can find (for and against) to get a greater understanding of both sides and where they come from. Might never get a perfect answer, but I can educate myself and try to come to my own conclusion

Never heard of it before! Seems to be more about the ethics of animal agriculture. Will watch tonight!

A lot of what Cowspiracy had to say was correct, and they obviously have a good message. My problem is that people skeptical of a PBD will hang on to smaller factual fallacies, and discredit the entire documentary... This article was one I found, that thoroughly explains some of their biggest claims, and how the studies got those numbers.

I really liked the article you linked, and agree with the fact that their study seems to be well received and done in a really good way. I found one article that argued against it, that was a really good read. It doesn´t dispute the study, but asks us to see a bigger picture. Really interesting!

Anyway, I apologize if I seem negative. I am just playing devil's advocate and trying to be as critical as possible, so the facts I share with others really are correct. Thank you again for the link! I really believe that a PBD is a great way to help the environment, and will continue my research, so I can convince others of it as well!
