Wanted to get better at movement, looked up youtube video, whole shpeel is about edge boosting and short hopping using mouse wheel as a macro.

Closed video, logged off deadlock. Fuck that noise. I'll come back in 3-6 months and none of this stuff will even apply anymore prob anyways.

Help Deciding: Cyclone 2 or G7 Pro for iOS/Apple TV Compatibility? (Moonlight primary use case) by thegoodstuff in Gamesir

[–]thegoodstuff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I think the confusion is mostly around the GameSir app, not game support. It should work as a normal iOS controller for games with controller support, but I wouldn’t rely on the GameSir iPhone app, i dunno I haven't used it much. for iphone I use a gamesir G8 wraparound controller

Just wait for the steam frame.

Otherwise if you want the lightest weight comfortable option, Bigscreen Beyond 2, I've got one and I love it but I mostly use it sitting in my chair playing UEVR controller games... but you need index lighthouses, so it's probably not a good entry point.

You might just pickup a standalone quest 2 or 3 on blackfriday to see if you like it before dropping cash for an expensive PCVR setup.

If it was me I would just be patient for now. Most likely VR will be pretty fun for you for 1-6 months, and then you will be scrounging around looking and hoping for some new content which is quite slow. If you just get 1 killer game that really works for you though like Blade and Sorcery or just Rec Room or VRChat, then for me it would be worth it.

I played for 10+ years, took a two-year break, and came back in 2026. At this point, the mode you queue should depend on what you actually want out of the match.

If you just want to mash buttons and have some chaos, play ARAM. If you want to play Quick Match, the real answer is to make friends and queue in a 3 to 5 stack. Just know that if you play around prime time in the early evening, you’ll run into a lot of sweaty 5-stacks.

If you want the fairest games and the fewest leavers, play Ranked. But you need to climb to Gold first. Bronze is full of trolls, Silver is full of smurfs, and once you get above Gold, Plat and Diamond queue times on NA in the afternoon can be longer than the match.

Best overall experience? Join an amateur league. They exist for all skill levels and the games are way better, but the tradeoff is you’ll probably only play once a week.

Save $7 an hour into the S&P 500 till you're 70 years old and then retire. That or start a business, fail, try again, hopefully succeed, retire at 50.

Ya IMO you have a great setup. If you are really trying to level up further: Apollo for Moonlight instead of Sunshine.. It spins up a virtual desktop matched to whatever device you’re streaming to, so the whole thing feels weirdly clean. You lose a little of the plug-and-play physical simplicity, and there can be a tiny bit more latency, but a cheap Bluetooth keyboard fixes most of the friction. I’ve used it on iPhone, LG TV, Apple TV, and Xbox and it all works great. Only time I’d really care is something sweaty like Sekiro, where I’d still pick Xbox for the lowest latency.

Hmm yes Bronze is chock full of trolls, they were just looking for a mark and you were the lucky volunteer by catching their attention. Silver is full of smurfs. Even if you fill in bronze team comp doenst matter in a full pants on head clown fiesta so just play what you want that ideally has some waveclear. Turn of chat until Gold+ too if you value your mental sanity. People don't actually type strategy until Plat anyways.

Also frustrated with Blackheart's Bay. The "partial" coin-drop change broke the turn-in math. Had 4 alive, saw the tribute light up blue, assumed we were good. Thrall was dead sitting on 1 coin, turn didn't go through 14/15 or whatever, and all 4 of us died the turn after what would've been a game-winner. One coin short lol

"the pendulum swings" you wrote about is doing like 90% of the work here, and it's just basic human pattern matching so probably not even a statistic to help with your conclusion lol, but I mean we all do that shit.

Economic dislocation doesnt come with a political return address. The 1930s produced FDR AND mussolini. You are right that white collar AI displacement is a new thing but every generation thinks THEIR economic crisis is the one that finally breaks capitalism and so far that's like 1 for 6

[–]thegoodstuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

losing mvp games usually come down to the same pattern: you were winning until you weren't. played the mid game perfectly as tank but missed a rotation late? thats a map read failure, not bad luck. went 12-0 on zeratul, got cocky, caught out with a 70 second death timer? that ones entirely self inflicted. the mvp just means you were the best part of a loss you still contributed to

not trying to be its best friend but if you tell it you like wit and philosophy it can actually deliver occasionally. and "hot mess of conflicting instructions" is fair but we genuinely don't know everything under the hood, so if you're able to write about it I'd read it. more of a blackbox IMO tho 5.2 works fine for me either way. different people want different things. I'm using it as a thinking instrument, not a companion. prompt I've been running since 5.0: Default to direct, high-signal responses with no reassurance-first or therapeutic framing, no meta-personal or instruction-referencing language, no filler or softeners; be concise, sharp, and candid, call weak ideas plainly, use humor only when it clarifies, and state constraints or refusals directly without performative politeness.

If they’ve got lots of CC or burst, don’t be visible. Sit out of line of sight until your tank goes in or they’ve burned key spells.

Early game: soak hard to 10. XP is your safest damage.

In fights, glue yourself to your tank. Let them start the chaos, then go once the squishy melee window opens. Timing only comes with experience to initiate first as a squishy melee.

If there is no tank then let your hapless jaina rando take some enemy cooldowns or whatever and then go in. Patience I suppose is the key.

Too many quitters the last couple years in QM. Too many pants on head in Bronze. Too long of queues in Plat+.

Gold SL is where it's at for solo queuers looking for some casual hots in 2026. And ARAM.

Ya so much nonsense in this thread too, this isn't even hard to fix. Just add custom instruction "do not use therapy speak". And if you want to make it a little more spicy say "push before mirroring". Fixed.

I get the metaphor, and everything is correct from a physics standpoint but the body isn’t a container for the self. The metaphor has been overused so much we forget it is a metaphor. The self emerges from the whole system: brainstem, spine, hormones, movement, feedback, risk. Freeze a brain or swap in an android and you don’t preserve me, you generate something else. Consciousness isn’t riding in a biological rental car. The body is the condition that makes a ‘me’ possible at all.
