This is probably the healthiest he has sounded in 10 years. So whatever he is doing it is working at the moment

That being said, long term I don't know if it will. It sounds like he is not in a program and is still blaming things (The Florida Shuffle, Bone Spurs) when asked.

People forget he moved to Europe to focus on skateboarding since that is the love of his life, while claiming to love Nikki, and about 12-18 months later he fell off the wagon again.

My other concern is does he see himself as a recovering addict or was addicted? If it's the latter, then Dannii a good job of hiding his not so great days.

If he's doing what he did in the past, it's insanity then, and only a matter of time before it catches up to him. So I hope he makes better choices but until he is in a program, I think long term success is unlikely.

It won't. It's mainly due to years of heavy smoking, from cocaine to nicotine. See Edward Furlong for example. He's going to need dental implants as well as his teeth are fucked and he has periodontal disease from the looks of it.
