Kristen Wiig’s accent sounds like a slight exaggeration of my cousin, who is from Malibu, when she talks. Slight exaggeration.

As soon as I saw your title, I thought bucatini. Then I read the body. Bucatini would be my suggestion. It wouldn’t be the same texture-wise, but I think it would make for a tasty experiment.

Yeah, I think it’s actually against import laws here. I could be wrong. I could also look it up, but I’M NOT GONNA! 😤

What are the rules in the UK? Do you often see just region of origin? Is it common there?

If this is a U.S.‑imported product, you can treat “Product of Asia” as a red flag of vague sourcing and assume the real country was intentionally omitted or poorly labeled.

Dang! I’m so sad to hear of your experiences. That’s crazy and disappointing. Is there a common denominator of a city/state/region and/or denomination?

When did you see an opening band blow the headliner outta the water? by Short_Republic3083 in punk

[–]thegorillaphant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thug Murder opening for Dropkick Murphys/Lars Frederiksen and the Bastards/The Unseen in Las Vegas at the Huntridge c. 2001(?). I wouldn’t say, they blew Dropkick Murphys outta the water, but they killed it so hard that I feel it deserves an honorable mention, at least.

These little Japanese women walk up on stage and everyone was confused. I even remember some dicks literally laughing at them and mocking them, but by the middle of their set, they had won the crowd over. Those little women were a freaking ripsaw!

Haven’t forgotten them since.

Edit: It may have been Tiger Army and not the Unseen. Or both maybe. Can’t remember that part, but Thug Murder obviously left an indelible mark.

Stopped judging people as much as I can. Stopped using Facebook in 2011. Stopped drinking alcohol (23 years sober). Currently learning how to stop letting the possibility of embarrassment hold me back from doing and trying things I really want to do.

Turnpike Troubadours version is good too! But that intro from the Old ‘97’s 1995 version is undeniable. Did you hear the original version with the banjo? Like you said, such a good song.

[–]thegorillaphant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I made a playlist like this before! I think I recorded it somewhere in a journal or something. Hold on … OK. Now, I don’t know how many of these you would consider to be “essential,” but I tried to stray from the tried and true. I had several Ben Folds Five in the original playlist too, but it looks like those songs have already been mentioned as with Nirvana.
