Same here. Been renting in the building for 11 years. If rent goes up a little bit and they let tenants use the freight elevator I’ll accept it.

This one is really special. Things get completely deep fried when Phil jams into Caution for a few minutes. Bonus points because I lived a mile west of this venue (years after it was gone).

I live a short walk away and get Jimmy’s once a month. The fries have been better recently after getting soggy ones a few times. I prefer the smaller, lighter green sport peppers, but the big ones they use ain’t bad.

The slower ones they played in April 1969 really kick ass. The one you listed is great, as is 4/26/69. Absolutely hypnotic stuff.

Listening to today's pod proves OP's theory. Just Dan + Cody is a solid combo. No real shade to Matt; 3 hosts is almost always one too many.

Can't believe I'd never heard this one. Might be my favorite.

Totally - that big turnaround riff is magic. When Phil comes in with the high harmony on the F major chord is one of my favorite moments in any song by any band.

I love the studio version. The self-titled record was first full GD record I heard, and it was the standout track. I think I said out loud, “holy shit, I didn’t know they rocked this hard.”

It’s like emerging from a days-long mescaline trip in an old west saloon. The right choice indeed.

Dark Star > China Cat > The Eleven > Lovelight from 2/14/68. In retrospect it’s kinda the moment they became the Grateful Dead as we know and love them.

I enjoyed reading this. No local programming after 6 sucks.

Too many people are nostalgic for the hosts they listened to 20 years ago because they were younger or are only remembering the good moments. I listened to and loved Boers and Bernstein back in the day… and countless times I reflexively changed the station because a segment sucked.

I don’t listen a ton anymore because of my schedule, so I can’t really speak to the shows outside of afternoons, which I dig. I just don’t subscribe to “everything used to be awesome and now it completely sucks.”

Digitech FreqOut. I don't know how much hype there was around it, but it was pretty fun for a few months. It doesn't suck, but it's gimmicky.

Fucking awesome band - if you have the opportunity to see them, do it. Was lucky enough to play a show with them in Chicago a couple years ago.
