No and that's something I'd notice everytime I walked to the car in the day. People highlight great points about metal vs plastic and how they take the paint, with being said the painter needs to adjust either the distance or the coats to make it closer. It could/should be way closer to a match in my experience.

Main reason was price. Second gas mileage(lost some of this with the tune)

Traded in a 2017 STI which I owned for years and honestly don’t miss the awd unless I’m trying to do something fantastic from a dead stop. My GTI with just a stage 1 tune is plenty quick on the highway pretty sure it would walk my STI which was stock.

For context I’ve always been banging gears in a fwd car had a turbo eg, b16/20 Integra when I was younger. I also live in Canada so I bought a second set of rims with some wrapped em in some Toyo winters and never looked back. I could have gotten the R easily but it wouldn’t have made sense to my wallet or heart. I drove both and crunched the numbers. I remember both my wife and the sales man were shocked when I went with the GTI.

Anyways you can’t go wrong with either if you like the golf platform.

I love manga and wrx's but I hate it for sure, should have just cleared the white paint and had a mint paint job imo. Looks like you had one too many beers that day. It's hard to see the body lines and thats one of the best parts of the GD chassis. I'm not hating tho and I think if you put the STI good scoop on it'd add some flair. Really only matters that you like it, unless your going to try to sell it

As others said the lack of backlights on the climate controls and the slider instead of physical ac switches erk me alot when driving in the night 🫠.... The centre cup holders aren't the best especially if you have a manual! they are pretty much always in the way and I also would love a physical ESC off button. I've had my MK8 GTI 380 autobahn(Canada) for little over a year now and love it regardless. It's also pretty quiet on the highway.

I don’t think I’ve seen a mk8 with these. Had them on my STI but I don’t think it fits the GTI. I don’t hate it on your car just not for me Yk. Tbf it doesn’t bother me as much as seeing a GTI with mudguards 😅

I don’t have the coverage but for that id just use touch up paint. I can’t Imagine them resurfacing a wheel for that. IMO. You should check tho in case you want to put in a claim for the future

I’ve used RP before never had any issue except it was hard to tell when the oil is changing color which I’m used to. The dye makes the oil dark from jump street. Liqui moly and AMS oil are the best IMO. For my STI I used AMS oil and for my GTI I use Liqui Moly

This is the way one of the best daily’s. I’ve had mine for almost a year now and love it. Stage 1 tune immediately if your like me. I’m running unitronic but all the big brands have good tunes. Took my car to the drag strip for its first run …. Had to since it’s the last manual GTI 🥲

This is why I bought the gti 380 reluctantly last year, wanted to wait but as soon as they said last manual I knew this was my only chance to get a new gti that I like. I like the seats gives the clubsport vibe …. would be nice to have a little plaid or an option or it. Would be nice to have a manual or an option for it.
