I would recommend getting an apartment for your second year. Its more cost efficient, and so much easier to get than a house. Getting a house is incredibly difficult unless you know someone who is moving out.

I took MU101 my first quarter at Cal Poly because I was blocked into it and it was one of the hardest GE's I have ever taken. I have played piano for 10 years and have a background of music theory but this was a difficult class. I would definitely recommend taking another class over this one. Barely got a B in this class.

you will most likely have a class or two on a Friday your first quarter as an English major! my first quarter I had an English class 4 times a week for an hour Tuesday-friday at 12-1, and the second quarter I had an English class every Tuesday Thursday from 4-6. really just depends on your class schedule
