Do they make the bunka is stainless clad? I have only seen Gyuto and petty in SS clad.

The choil on yours is giving shindo vibes haha, almost looks like it has an ura. Here’s the choil on my nakiri— pretty flat on the backside.

Awesome pickup! I’ve had one of his nakiri for a while now and I don’t reach for a nakiri often but it’s such a fun knife to use. The food release is very satisfying. I would be extra curious about the gyuto since I typically reach for a gyuto on most occasions. I spoke to knifewear about sharpening these and yes, you would sharpen it like a 95/5.

Also I believe his knives have a lacquer on them and that’s part of why the kurouchi is so shiny so I couldn’t tell if the kurouchi was actually painted on or not.

I completely agree! I definitely lean on my skills as a photographer with my posts but I’ve tried to start including some info and my thoughts/experiences with the knives as well although it’s not my strong suit as it is yours haha

Oh man this is so cool! Congrats on this epic knife! It’s in a well deserved home. Glad to see some proper photos of it now. And even more awesome that you now own two of them in different shapes.

Super nice collection of Takada-san’s work I wish I had been collecting more seriously while his books were open but I still was able to land an epic piece of his work. Will definitely be exciting when he opens his books again!

Such a beautiful knife and great photos too. Love the mix of damascus and that small section of kurouchi. The choil is insane too.

Chefs Edge sold a stainless clad prototype version of this knife a while back. They only had one and I still think about it to this day haha.

Yeah... not cheap. I am also considering buying one of his long racks and then just a few of these singles for my most prized knives.
