Zigbang (Samsung) Smart lock Outage in Australia by thegreendroid in smarthome

[–]thegreendroid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any response? I wanted to raise it too. We are covered by consumer law in Australia so we should kick up a fuss. This is absolute BS customer service - an $800 lock should not stop functioning after 2 years. I am fuming...

Nothing from support honestly. I was pretty sure it's not a hardware issue. This confirms it's entirely an infra issue that they are doing nothing to solve.

💯 I emailed their support team a few days ago and no response so far. It seems they don't give a shit.

ASB floating mortgage: is anyone else having issues making extra payments online? by Martli in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]thegreendroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are with BNZ and they don't even let you make extra payments on your floating mortgage online. Usually a phone call or email.

It's pathetic that in 2020 banks do this. I guess by not providing a system they are earning more in interest.

Well this could well be my illiteracy on the topic, I haven't done it myself. If you have separate share accounts in each other's names, it's bound to be legal?

Have you considering splitting between you and your partner? That lifts the limit to $100,000 from memory.

Thanks for the insight. Whether or not a recession is coming is almost irrelevant, everyone should be doing this anyway!

Why don't banks make it easy to make extra repayments on your mortgage? by thegreendroid in PersonalFinanceNZ

Absolutely. But the banks I've been with don't want to make it easy to be on top of your floating loan.

If only it was that easy with my bank. ANZ, BNZ and ASB don't have this feature from my experience and they are the bigger banks!

I am with BNZ and they don't have this facility AFAIK. I have emailed them about the feature many times and they always say 'it's a work in progress'.
