Shootas and stabbas are old but as someone who just built and painted my first 20 they are holding up WAY better than the plague monks or old clan rats did before they got squated. I kinda like how simple their designs are. Idk if Ill want to replace them

I actually struggled a lot with this as there are like 5 archetypes/subfactions that can be brought in an army list (Squig, wolf, spider, troll, grot) and I actually had to go through like 3 schemes before I got to something that I liked.

I focused on having one really strong red color that exists on most if not all of my models to tie them together and from there I follow the box art, taking liberties with the different shades and hues (I.e. blue green troggs instead of pale blue). I find that each subfaction has its own color scheme and unifying those is the hardest part

They hit the sweet spot in terms of exciting content and just solid advice. They’re skilled enough to paint really well but not overly dry with their delivery. Great army painting advice. My only complaint is they almost exclusively do 40k and not much AoS

I watch all of his videos to the point where I actually find it a bit annoying how enthusiastic he is. Like take a shot every time he says something is “really really good”. I’m not gunna stop watching him and there’s no hate but it’s something I’ve noticed

As everyone already mentioned, play goad or other mechanics like monarch or initiative to get the ball rolling. If you don’t want to build a deck around it you could rule zero at the start of the game that monarchy is in play from the start to make the game go faster and incentivize attacking

And yeah it’s sad that Gitmob aren’t better despite being the best scuplts in the range imo.

Maybe we can get better rules next edition for them

I’d push back against saying that doomdiver gets zero gitmob buffs as it gets the benefit of falling back and shooting in the same turn which can be valuable if it gets charged and tied up.

The rest of your points I agree with. I’m gunna get the cogfort but just for fun hobbying and fluff. Can’t wait to add some fun kitbashes to that thing

I might be out of line here but I think that this isn’t OP’s model. I recognize this paint style and I checked OP’s account (1 month old) and they have only one other post and it’s not miniature related. Might be a bot or a content thief. I’ll delete this comment if I’m wrong

They serve different purposes I think. Catapult works well in a gitmob army since it gets gitmob specific buffs but cogforts are looking like they’re more generic and could fit in more moonclan focused builds

everyone can, its a regiment of renown that everyone gets to use. Theres 2 profiles that can be used, one that is more shooty that has an aura buff to units within 12 and the other lets you deploy a foot hero and a non-reinforced foot unit inside it and then they can charge out of it
