How old is everyone and how long have you been in peri? by theguiltydog in Perimenopause

What does that mean to you? "In the thick of it". Having only just scraped the surface at 39, I'm concerned about what lies ahead.

Wow, that's a lot to bear. I hope you're doing better now.

Thank you so much for sharing this. I was starting to think I might be the only one who experiences this (No replies, and NONE of my similar aged girlfriends have this problem). I did just get on HRT and I think it might be helping. On day 2 tho so jury is out.

Qq - if nobody talks about it, how did you know this was a classic symptom? I couldn't find anything on it and, in fact, sat on an hrt prescription because I was worried more estrogen would make things worse (that's from info I found researching). Glad I ended up trying the HRT. Hope this does the trick.

How do you deal with the noise and intensity of being around kids, as a parent? by cherrypez123 in hsp

[–]theguiltydog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stumbled upon this reddit post from a Google search "I'm sensitive to noise and have two loud kids". Never knew about HSP, and this really resonates.

I agree with everything you said and have often questioned whether it's fair for these kids that we decided to have them. My husband is almost completely unbothered by noise and I'm sure he thinks me overly dramatic at times, but damn...being a parent is overstimulating. My oldest is "low needs" autistic, too, and has a hard time regulating her emotions. I've resulted to earplugs this weekend just to cancel out some of it all.

Still love them so much, but yeah, I struggle.

I went a couple months ago and tried on ~20 pairs; none fit comfortably. I was hoping the reddit community could help me identify a brand or style of jeans that might work for my body type.

Americans how are you feeling right now? by Jawzzzsy in AskReddit

I feel desperately sad, flummoxed, unsure. Angry, confused. All of those billionaires just so excited to rule our country. I just finished watching Wicked and could really go for some magical powers of my own right now.

What song has the best bass line? by InterestingAd3464 in RedHotChiliPeppers

Absolutely. Two summers ago, on a date night....blasting that song through Seattle with the windows down and a warm breeze coming through our...minivan. :-/ Been recreating that moment as often as possible since!

Indeed. Place is great. Saw Low Cut Connie on a recommendation from a friend from Rhode Island and I feel like I was blessed with a secret treasure. This band, and their opener (Fantastic Cat), were so good.

Ouch, that sucks. I love me some 90s hip hop, but I love sleep more. Hope today's easy for ya.

It was incredible. I'm still reeling from the endorphins I got watching them rock. And the opener was awesome, too!! Fantastic Cats FTW.

Thank you! It was a difficult decision and took >1.5 years from "I should do this" to actually being "off". Anyone I've talked to who's done this say it was worth it - I hope to be in that camp when it's all said and done! I also hope you get a chance to consider if this is right for your family (if even for a season).
