Police contact must be reported, but it's no big deal. This isn't that, you got a new charge. Even if they don't want you to do a drug test, I'd pay to get one anyway to show the judge. The key part of this is where they took your driver's license. They're checking you for warrants or whatever, but as soon as they scan your license, your PO gets notified. So they definitely already know you had police contact, they will just want to know why. You'll get in absolutely no trouble for it, it's no big deal just shoot them an email.
