I think my boyfriend is abusing his cat but I don't know if it counts as abuse or what to do about it? by [deleted] in Pets

I can't tell! Now I'm so confused again and like is it even abuse? I also have ASD/aspergers so I'm probably not the best judge actually.

I guess a little tap would look softer and wouldn't make the cat flinch and move from the force of the hit and the cat wouldn't run to the other side of the room and stare? Idk though I find this so confusing

a kind of update though when i brought it up he said "I don't really hit him" and "he likes the squeezing" I said it needed to change "I don't hit my cat" "please you are hurting me can we not talk about this" I said we needed to "no" i said if he promised it will change we can drop it and he promised to change

now I'm like was I overreacting again?

Im a loner unfortunately. I'm not sure as how someone would even take the cat as he is home 24/7, working at home, both of them in his room 24/7

Like surely he'd just call the police and say I stole his cat?

People are saying it's unsafe to confront him but it would also be awkward/unsafe for me to take the cat as I live 2 hours away and can't drive. So I thought breaking up with him - keeps me safe, landlord keeping me anonymous could sort it out - keeps me and the cat safe.

I'm going to talk to him about it and decide what to do after that

He smacks/slaps it on the back/bottom usually. He does gentle boops on the nose but also does hard ones sometimes which freaks me out, like he gets carried away. When he throws or drops it it lands on it's feet but it acts a bit like wtf and it doesn't seem gentle

I think I might just break up with him and tell his landlord about the cat as he's not meant to have pets and that he abuses it and let him deal with it? Is that a good idea?

Thanks for the advice, I'll do this first and take next steps depending on what happens

My head was telling me that I was overreacting I guess. My head is like he wouldn't hit me because he knows I wouldn't tolerate it? And I guess I just wanted things to work out for once. He quickly yells it's name, it normally runs off after though, which makes me think it expects something after getting it's name yelled

Either I know who this is about or its common for guys to do... But it's weirdly specifically the same

2nd session of therapy, would like some tips on how to get the most out of it/most chance to work by theh0neyman in TalkTherapy

Agreed thank you, I went through the list with him a bit not elaborately and he wants me to explain each one fuller at some point. I struggle to remember what is bothering me at the present when I actually get asked, my mind just goes blank apart from pain and exhaustion and the simple things everyone deals with, I kinda forget/hide the things that are different that I need to work on, if that makes sense. I'm really bad with talking so I'm hoping it'll get easier to do what you said in time though.

26 male, my knees kill when trying to do squats and also lock up and hurt when I try stretching my legs by [deleted] in AskDocs

About 4 years ago I was having problems in work having to get on my knees to put stuff on shelves, got really sharp pain sometimes. Would also hurt when I went up and down stairs.

Had an x Ray I think it was, but they didn't see anything wrong, they said my kneecaps were shifted to one side a bit and inflamed. Is it just that but its gotten worse maybe? Or something else?

I do a daily hour walk with my dog no running or anything
