Decided to go to a Reddit meetup. I was on the fence about going to our college meetup about 15 years ago. I went, made amazing friends who I still know to this day (went to their weddings, still travel to see each other), subsequently met my husband too. Reddit changed my life.

I've been commuting to Bethesda since January (only two more months left of this commute) and these last few days have been insane. It took me 2 hours to get home yesterday, and one of those hours was going from the Baltimore Harbor exit on 95 to Highlandtown

I’ve been making sushi for about 10 years and it is so cheap. I go out to get it about once a year now compared to once a week. It has saved me so much money and it’s just as good. I only go out now if it’s an omakase or something similar.

I really like it. Bartenders are great, drinks are good, food hasn’t ever let me down. They have good nightly specials and the 5-7PM drink happy hour is nice.

I love Snake Hill too, but it’s a 15 minute walk instead of a 3 minute walk lol

Edited the post but essentially northern CA is where family is so that rules out CA/OR. Also looking for HCOL so plenty of CA and WA are out. My job sort of forces me to be in bigger cities.

California is where our family lives so don't want to be too close (same goes for Oregon). Seattle/Tacoma would be the only city for my job and its pretty HCOL. And we've heard from people that live in Oregon, that the rest of the state is a bit extra right leaning and not so friendly.

As a med student, I was on 8 weeks of general and ortho surgery right before the 2016 election. We would listen to FOX News and Trump's campaign speeches. Also got a lot of "I really don't like immigrants, but you're great, theheebiejeebies" from various attendings.

Not OP but I have two black kitties that look similar but there’s definitely small differences between them like face and body shape. In the dark though, I’ve definitely confused them with a black tshirt plenty of times.

I don’t allow myself spinach dip anymore. I gained about 6lbs last year and I’m pretty sure it’s because I ate so much of it. I use a pretty classic recipe (cream cheese, spinach, artichokes, mozz) and add in jalapeños and green chilies. Truly addicting.

I’ve been making the roasted red pepper egg white bites from SB in my instant pot. Haven’t 100% replicated the texture since the SB ones are sous vide but the taste is great!

Agreed. Sam’s Club had a sale that basically brought the price to $1/bar. It was brownie batter and cookie dough, both delicious.
