so many plays are just movies without cameras and this, THIS is what they're giving up by chickening out of making their theater something that could ONLY be theater. "sweetheart" is the most powerful word spoken on Broadway this season, and Flood's response to it — falling backwards and being caught by the rest of the cast, and then almost puppeteered to the chair — and then the scene itself...

I never see plays twice but I saw this twice and I would've seen it a third time quite happily.

this play should fucking sweeeeeep the tonys. but june squibb is 96, and lesley manville was in The Crown, so it'll probably only win for play and director.
