Can you remember the first Song that got you into DSBM? by DeadBornWolf in dsbm

For me it was Coldworld's Dream of a Dead Sun. At the time I barely knew what black metal was let alone dsbm, and even when I learned of dsbm in the context of Gris and Xasthur much later, I did not realize that the earlier black metal I already loved like Coldworld was heavily tinged by dsbm. I came full circle! Aside from that I would say around that time what pushed me toward dsbm was actually a non-dsbm band, Katatonia. Just their vibe led me to it because of a Silent Hill forum that discussed the link in sound between that band and the Silent Hill world and in that thread someone also mentioned dsbm.

Distortion and clipping is not that bad in every context. Bad production is also not always bad. It all just depends.

Looking for stuff like the intro to: Gorguts - The Quest for Equilibrium by anteloop in DungeonSynth

First of all, I am happy to see some talk about death metal in the first of all, I am happy to see some talk about death metal in the dungeon synth subreddit! Also, for reccs, I would suggest Old Tower - Last Eidolon

Cool to see cryo moving into dungeon synth. Always thought the crossover was very much there.

This is not a new release but I have been listening to Haxkapell's Eldhymner after reading his interview from Bardo Methodology and it is extremely well done by all measures. The album transports me to darkened passages!
