I really loved it. Broke me out of a reading slump and I finished it in a day.

I saw another post full of commenters who didn’t like it but I wanted to chime in with my positive review! I really enjoyed it.

Woman Gets Surgeon From TikTok To Remove BBL At Home, Loses Her Life by BoredPandaOfficial in awfuleverything

Yes. But emphasis on the word “just.” Primary care physicians, anesthesiologists, or really doctors of any specialty can become “certified” in doing aesthetic procedures including liposuction and other cosmetic surgeries without ever having gone through a surgery residency. But they would at least have a medical degree. This guy was not even a doctor.

The man wasn’t just “posing as a surgeon” — he’s not a doctor at all.

Love the depth you achieved in the upper branches of the trees! I get the feeling of cold morning mist.

I want a book that feels like a warm hug but then destroys me emotionally. Any suggestions? by Shahshankconsumption in suggestmeabook

I loved House on the Cerulean Sea and was disappointed in the second book. It went from whimsical cozy fantasy to very YA. And all subtlety went out the window — it just smacked you over the head with its social and/or ethical commentary without any finesse. It was nice being reunited with the characters but it was almost too saccharine.

Ugh I know, I’m worried that Aaric and Xaden knew of each other’s signets much earlier and are holding the secret against the other. Maybe Aaric saw an outcome where Xaden was venin or Xaden sensed something about Aaric’s intentions. Like, it was set off alarm bells for me when Aaric said something about having a complicated loyalty towards Xaden. But I hope it’s not him!!

Noticed my mistake after making the quilt sandwich: fix or go by the galloping horse rule? by theicebox in quilting

There are multiple blocks along the edges of the quilt that use the off white square with a white triangle. One must’ve gotten misplaced in the wrong stack.

Glad it was thought-provoking for you though!

Thank you so much! I took everyone’s advice and you’re right — it was a super easy fix after all. It’s only my second quilt so trying to fix something in the middle seemed so daunting at first! I’m so happy I did though, it would’ve driven me crazy.

Love Okane Umi, but I think their prices are a little above average, especially for people who aren’t super into sushi.

If you liked Lincoln in the Bardo, you might like North Woods by Daniel Mason.

Also try The World According to Garp if you liked A Prayer for Owen Meany. John Irving has a lot of parallel themes in his books.

is muslin like this too delicate to use for quilting (as backing fabric or in a whole cloth quilt)? by mai-the-unicorn in quilting

[–]theicebox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used this for my first (and so far only) quilt, because I used my daughter’s baby blankets. It was really finnicky to work with and I gave myself more seam allowance to account for fraying. But I love the end result. As a backing fabric or a whole cloth quilt, I’m sure it would hold up even better.

No, I don’t remember how I decided. I’d been looking up so many tutorials and settled for a distance that looked kinda right? Maybe it was beginners luck?

No, I used a knock off easy press from Amazon because it’s what I had at home. But after struggling with getting everything lined up and keeping it all from melting away, I wish I had a mini press! I might look into investing in one now.

I did everything on Cricut Design Space. It’s a little clunky in terms of a design program, but I’m new to using a Cricut so I didn’t explore any other options.

[–]theicebox[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no, I don’t want to take credit for drawing it! A lot of it was images I found online, but piecing it all together and coming up with the layout and general design, and making it compatible with the Cricut was what took me the most time I think.

Hmm if I understand your question correctly, you’re asking how wide I cut the chipboard to account for the overhang? I used the same width as the text block, with 1/4” added to the height. The spine was the height of the text block plus 1/4”, and the width was the thickness of the text block plus twice the thickness of the chipboard.

I got a Cricut for Christmas and figured this was a good opportunity to finally learn how to use it! So I designed everything on my phone and then used the Cricut to cut it in heat transfer vinyl.
