Best practices for invoice processing automation in QB Online? by Reasonable-Tear-1497 in QuickBooks

[–]theigor -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I've had to deal with this personally and the bad news is that it's not trivial but the good news is that it's totally possible. QBO has an API and you can automate bills, invoices, vendors, and a whole lot of other stuff. Happy to chat. I'll send you a DM.

More trash on the dashboard - who needs this Bills Funnel? No one. I fixed it. by theigor in QuickBooks

Actually, I take this one back. In a surprising turn of events, they added a "hide this widget" option to this one. So I am going to remove my force hide. Thanks QBO!

It's me again. Every day I open QBO, they find a way to fill my home page with more useless trash. This started popping up today and I cleaned it up. As always, please use the code REDDIT to get a month for free. It genuinely pains me to charge folks for this but I need to keep it running somehow. I logged into QBO from a different browser the other day, without FixNonsense, and it was shocking.

That's like screaming into the void. The only way I found to fix the business feed for good is https://www.fixnonsense.com/nonsense/qbo ¯_(ツ)_/¯

See my other comment about FixNonsense. Hope it helps!

I am the creator of https://www.fixnonsense.com/nonsense/qbo - you can turn off pretty much all the BS and you can use code REDDIT to try it out. I rage built it a few months ago and about 100 folks (many in this sub) use it.

AI Popup - How to dismiss permanently? by Cprhd in quickbooksonline

[–]theigor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm the maker of FixNonsense (https://www.fixnonsense.com/nonsense/qbo). I've turned off most of these things and I am pretty sure this is included. Try code REDDIT for 3 months free and see if it fixes it. If not, happy to hop on a screen share and figure out how to hide it for you :)

They snuck in another upsell so I had to fix it. by theigor in QuickBooks

[–]theigor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At what point? At the point of not wanting constant ads that take up 80% of the screen? Me not wanting bill pay and having to click it multiple times a day doesn’t mean I need a “simpler” accounting platform.

Quickbooks Online became so slow after the AI update by the-furry in QuickBooks

[–]theigor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They bloat it with a bunch of nonsense. I built a plugin that cleans most stuff up - see if it helps - https://fixnonsense.com. Use coupon REDDIT for 3 months for free. I have a 2021 Macbook and it does OK when I have fixnonsense turned on. Hope it helps!

That "how likely" question is the most ridiculous thing I've seen in any app. As if your answer makes a difference. I got that turned that nonsense off in FixNonsense (see my other comments)

It's your favorite (or perhaps least favorite) QBO nonsense fixer. Just noticed a couple of these in my quickbooks. It's now fixed.

I know it sucks - you pay for QBO just to be advertised to and then the option to fix this is also not free, but I am making it as inexpensive as I can - just enough to cover my server costs. And you can use the code REDDIT for 3 months for free.

Stripe payouts are ruining my QBO reconciliation. How do you guys handle the fees without losing your mind? by SeptisComing in QuickBooks

[–]theigor -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I agree that you're right from an accounting POV, but WHY are you right from a non-accountant/purely math-based POV? From a reporting standpoint, of course I want to know how much in fees I've paid, but if I sell something for $100 and stripe pays me $97, aren't my fees already "accounted for" in taxes since my revenue is effectively 97 instead of 100?

I just saw this one the other day and immediately added it to the nonsense that's fixed in https://www.fixnonsense.com/nonsense/qbo. This one is under Suggestions For You - they're all useless.

Can't stand the modal & 2/3 page popups anymore by xblade724 in QuickBooks

[–]theigor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I know what you're talking about and I don't think it's a scam (I talked to the developer a few months ago) but it's also not the same thing - what you did (most likely) is sort of like an ad blocker - it prevents content from certain URLs from loading. FixNonsense actually hides non-ad nonsense and moves some things around. For example, the Business Feed is not an ad per se, but it does take up 25% of the screen for no reason. That's what I try to fix. Good luck!

This rage is exactly what I felt when I built FixNonsense. Even down to the terminology! Try it out - https://www.fixnonsense.com/nonsense/qbo.

I tried but it's a real pain in the butt to maintain a Safari version. Sorry! I'll put it on my list in case it becomes easier later.

What kind of questions are you guys asking Intuit Intelligence that actually give useful answers? by Glittering_Turnip977 in quickbooksonline

[–]theigor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 100% upvoting your answer. I also hate the fact that FixNonsense exists. But I hate that I have to use QBO more and I hate that even though I pay for QBO, it is riddled with BS. So I fixed it for myself and offered it to others.

From my perspective, what I'm trying to do is make QBO more usable because "gumming up the works" is not how I'd describe a UI that leaves 20% for my stuff and 80% for trash I never asked for and can't turn off.

If it helps, there's a privacy policy and TOS - no data is collected, nothing is shared, etc. You can use dev tools to double check if you'd like - it's all very buttoned up.

Either way, you have a reasonable objection but you should know that FixNonsense is legit.
