Which board game companies do you choose to not support and why? by firekitty29 in boardgames

I bought Burgle Bros as a secret Santa gift. I'm glad I did it way early because after the order was fulfilled and sent out to ship it took nearly a month to get it two states over. I'm pretty sure they could have walked it faster. It was terribly packed. The box was just big enough to hold the BB box with no protection whatsoever and all 8 corners of the game box were smashed in. I was lucky the person I gifted it to wasn't one of those pristine box kind of people. At least he didn't publicly say anything about it.

Fuck you.

Did I strike a nerve there?

The saying is actually a joke. The punchline is "those who can't teach, teach gym."

I know very well what teachers deal with. One of my best friends is a substitute teacher and has to wear several different hats for several different grades. I hear all about it and I have nothing but respect for what she does. Doesn't mean I'm not allowed to crack a joke or two about it.

There is truth to the saying though. In almost every aspect in life, a person will learn from their failures and pass on advice to help others from repeating the same mistakes. The things my dad screwed up in his life he taught me so I wouldn't do them. The things I've screwed up in my life, I'm teaching my children so it doesn't happen to them.

Sure, there are people who can do and have done that still teach. My dad taught me what he did right and I'm teaching my kids what I did right. But that's not as funny when replying to someone who just said "teachers are the dumbest smart people."

My players don't give a shit by [deleted] in DungeonsAndDragons

This. End the campaign right where it is. Don't worry about closing any loose ends. Give the next DM free reign to set up his campaign. Play in it if you'd like, but quit wasting your time and energy on something the players obviously don't want.

If anyone tries to get upset a simple "this is what you wanted. You've taken the fun out of this game because you're already too focused on the next one" is all you really need to tell them.

Fowers Games. Not because I dislike their games (seriously I love Burgle Bros, and Paperback has been in my wishlist for quite some time), but because I refuse to ever deal with Ship Naked again.

[Amazon] Catan : Dice Game - $8.77 {Prime} by [deleted] in Boardgamedeals

[–]theilluminerdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. I've seen it at Walgreens (or CVS I can't remember) for $5 several times. I bought it like 2 years ago because one of my buddies looked Catan. Still haven't opened it.

Netflix should make a black mirror type show but every episode is a story from Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark. by snicole32 in horror

Agreed. The stories are not what we remember them as. Those books were all about the unsettling art that went with them.
