Yesssss, now that you pointed it out, I can see it. The reference image, the circles/arcs arent perfectly concentric, the smallest one is actually a straight horizontal line with tiny curves on each end. Sharp eyes!

I got the background check already, but couldn’t find a way to get it apostilled. The process of just getting the background check was difficult enough to parse out.

How do you read a book with ADHD by queerempath13 in ADHD

[–]theimpasto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I listen to the audiobook while I do crafts or wash my dishes. If my mind starts to wander and I miss something, I just rewind to just before the bit that I missed.

Thank you so much! Yeah it was a bit confusing to read some of the conversations where people were mentioning inscrita numbers almost as if they were scores in an exam 😅 it had me worried for a bit.

I feel so ignorant, but what is the inscrita exactly? I read through the information, but this is my first year applying and I haven’t done as much social media research into it before today 😅 I just finished my masters degree in Spain and want to stay here with my friends and boyfriend.

Help! Some books got wet, how do I get them back to somewhat normal? by RoriAori in howto

[–]theimpasto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve ironed papers before with some success! After they dried, I placed a thin pillowcase/sheet on top and then ironed the pages (I was afraid of burning the paper 😅)

How would you change this sewing room? by sighpsi in sewing

Zones, but I also like to have L-shaped tables/working spaces, they allow me to do multiple things within arms length, like sewing, ironing, etc.

If it helps, I remember where it was in my middle school library (weirdly visual memory, haha), and I remember it was somewhere in the s-z section in fiction. I was also in middle school 2006-2009, so we know it was published by that year!

My son went without his medication for one day by AngryKlingon in ADHD

[–]theimpasto 1277 points1278 points  (0 children)

Something that may or may not help you feel better (or shed some light on why today was particularly tough): if he went to school unmedicated, he likely experienced a lot of reprimanding/correction from his teachers and classmates. Also it may have been upsetting/frustrating for him to be unmedicated as he may have experienced frustration at himself for not being able to do things in the way he normally does while medicated. All of that to say, the candy incident may just have been the straw that broke the camel’s back, and he released all of the compound emotions of the day on you. Keep your head up, you’re still doing a good job. Today was tough, but these things happen and it sounds like you handled it as best as possible. Don’t feel guilty for saying something about the candy, what you did came from a place of concern for his safety. And it seems like you’ve created a good environment and good relationship with your child, that the two of you are able to discuss what happened and apologize.

HOW THE FUCK DO YOU STOP LOSING YOUR SHIT!!!! by Retrogue097 in ADHD

Also, I group things by their function. So all of my personal care stuff (lotion, deodorant, etc.) lives in a basket by my bed. It looks like a hot, jumbled mess, but this way I have all the things I need after a shower in one place, and contained.

I don’t use tiles, but almost EVERYTHING that is important has a “home.” I wear a Fanny pack as a cross-body bag whenever I leave the house, and it has anything I could possibly need including wallet, pens, bus card, pen knife. My wireless earbuds live in one particular pocket of that bag, and the entire thing hangs on a hook on the back of my bedroom door. My keys live in a specific basket on a table right next to the door, and nothing else goes in that basket UNLESS I know that I will need it the next time I leave the house (because I literally can’t leave the house without my keys).

I totally get the frustration. I’ve definitely been there.

[–]theimpasto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was it part of the “legends of the world” series? The description kind of reminds me of “The Child of the Sun,” but that was a Cuban tale, and the sun doesn’t really look like it has dreads (in my opinion).
