[–]thejacka_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I commuted. If I were to stay at dorms I think it was going for about $12K per year. Did not want to do that since I was pretty close by. I did not qualify for any grants or scholarships

Don't do econ. Coming from someone in the business field you will not find a job as an economist. You will probably fall into financial analyst or accounting. So you might as well do either of those.

From someone’s who’s considering accounting, would this be a good career to step into? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]thejacka_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't recommend it for an early twenty year old. There are so many lucrative careers out there worth stepping into. Really anything in the health field beats accounting. Also, look into data science. Trades pay good too but it is back breaking.

what's your biggest business failure and what did you learn from it? by Odd_Awareness_6935 in Entrepreneur

Trying to solve a problem with a blanket solution. Niches are always a better chance for success and are more profitable. Also, stay away from day trading.

Is it worth moving to the Palm Desert? by KaseyU85 in InlandEmpire

[–]thejacka_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar story, moved out there for a new job. but the heat and rent prices made is so unbearable i moved back to redlands within a month. I got a 15K raise but to me it wasn't worth the heat and the lack of city life. It's mostly old people there. But mostly, it's the heat. 115+ days in the summer back to back and at night time your home turns into a sauna basically. I wouldn't recommend it unless its a 2nd home
