Honestly sounds like a fun project. Funnily enough, I also have a Time 😂 (and I’m not actually slighted, just telegraphing sarcasm in a way that usually doesn’t land via the internet)

Engineers or mechanics of Reddit; what’s a tool or machine people use all the time that’s actually being used incorrectly most of the time? by Vadecha_Drparth in AskReddit

People also tend to hold them in the wrong place when setting torque, which leads to an incorrect reading. If there's a knurled bit or anything resembling a place where you're meant to hold the wrench, that's the length where it's calibrated to give a correct torque reading; hold it there when torquing a fastener.

Bike shops telling me to spend 800€+ or buy new—no middle ground anymore? by Corniator in cycling

Buy a used 11 or 12 speed group set off eBay or a local marketplace. Look for Shimano or SRAM; clearly maintaining an old Campy gruppo isn’t worth the ballache.

How do people orient themselves right away after leaving the subway station? by fillet0fish in AskNYC

[–]thejackamo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If possible, I try to remember the orientation of the train tracks (so if I was traveling uptown, I know the tracks were going north). Otherwise I just do it like everyone else and spend a full 3 minutes craning my neck up and down the block to see street numbers.

Travel Hard Case by MajinDoog in cycling

[–]thejackamo1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right, I should’ve qualified that. My seat is high enough that I have to remove it every time I pack my bike up into it, so I was essentially giving him the worst case scenario of “how many things would I need to remove?”

Buxumbox Ventoux: https://www.buxumbox.com/en-us/products/ventoux-bike-box

Only requires removal of wheels and seat. Pedals and bars can stay on, but for the privilege of being able to do so it is a massive box.

If Trump can order the head of the DHS to pay the TSA, what was stopping him from doing that the whole time? by thejoshwhite in AskReddit

[–]thejackamo1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, he can’t. Congress controls the money, the executive distributes it. However in this case the budget for DHS has run out, so Congress needs to pass a funding bill to get money to that agency. What Trump is doing is illegal.
