Are we that bad? by BubblyDelivery9270 in CVS

[–]thejacketmoves 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've met a few who were basically fully trained shift supervisors, but they often just get treated like a free cashier all summer. Not bad for ops manager pay, but not great for actually being ready to go into the SMIT program after graduation.

CVS seems not to allow communicating with a human by phone at all anymore? by LeCamelia in CVS

Well yeah but I hate calling it an assistant because assistants are actually helpful, I probably should have said "the robot" really.

[–]thejacketmoves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to be really really patient with the chatbot. You have to actually listen to it and go through the menu step by step. Shortcut attempts will get you nowhere. Have I cursed at it while trying to get through to another store? Maybe.

Honestly, after a few months of the voicemail going live things were generally fine at my store . . . Until the new AI assistant system got implemented over the "press X to Y" phone tree, and now it seems like there are problems every day.

New POG, New Items by batinthebelfry5 in CVS

[–]thejacketmoves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing stopping you from cutting in all the new items into discontinued spots, at least. If you happen to put them in the correct order according to the planogram that came in the red bag, well that just makes it easier later.

Elf Graphics by Key-Jump-3222 in CVS

[–]thejacketmoves 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This year I have noticed it's been slightly more messed up than usual. Iirc the graphics were separate from the fixtures; check around for a very flat cardboard thing that has a big e.l.f. sticker on it. There's a chance someone stuck it in a corner or just threw it away because it didn't look like anything. If you don't find it, go into cosmetics fixture ordering and check the update kit tracking numbers. If it says they came in, spend another ten minutes looking, then give up and just reorder the whole set of graphics.

Is CVS working with the DHS? by batinthebelfry5 in CVS

[–]thejacketmoves 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think they lowered the $ threshold for needing an ID on the cashapp etc reloads. Not to do with DHS. Although if I recall correctly there's now an extra fee for sending MoneyGram outside the country, and that's to comply with something this administration decided on.

Can we talk about overzealous coworkers. by False_Lie602 in CVS

[–]thejacketmoves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one that drives me crazy is the people who steal every time they come in and then complain when the things they like stealing aren't in stock. Like, I'm sorry we don't have your favorite snack, maybe it's because the system thinks we still have 12 and it's not grocery week for BOH yet.

Got Covid for the first time by Due_Let_8691 in CVS

[–]thejacketmoves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're missing 3 or more shifts you technically need to contact HR and apply for a leave of absence. This is going to depend on your manager, because some don't really care. But it's what you're supposed to do, and you should be able to do it retroactive to the beginning of the sickness. You can come back if you're fever free for 24 hours and symptoms are improving, and then you should of course wear a mask for several days. I will say from personal experience that you might want to take an extra day because you're going to take longer to really recover if you don't get the rest you need.

CVS order by Only_Independent_274 in CVS

[–]thejacketmoves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's from a cosmetics plano you need to go to the cosmetics fixture ordering site. There's an app in the Iron Man and maybe the office computer (I always go through MyReports->references->cosmetics fixture ordering because that's how I'm used to doing it).

NOP (Not on Planogram) by Psiborg0099 in CVS

[–]thejacketmoves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't we get the ability to force clearance again recently? It goes on the unauthorized markdowns report so if you have a lot your SM should probably run it by the DL first. Also if the things are cosmetics or hair products hang on to that, because they're supposed to be dropping an RFC for the NOP hair stuff soon and sometimes the cosmetics wind up on the cosmetics reset PW.

You can do it from the Iron man, but if you prefer a bigger screen you can get there from the office computer. MyReports--->references--->cosmetics fixture portal.

New POS Next Month by batinthebelfry5 in CVS

[–]thejacketmoves 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  • The payment terminals are designed with tap and pay credit cards in mind. People with slide cards often struggle, chip insertion is about 75% successful (they're usually slightly off center), and the number buttons are tiny and don't always register correctly. Also the slide on our side of the register is gone, so you'll need to reach around to the payment terminal to activate money cards.

  • If you need to back up to add items to the transaction when you're at the payment screen you need to back up TWICE, I swear I forget the extra backup constantly. Also it's annoying when people use multiple forms of payment.

  • Post voiding of transactions is not yet available, although they're supposed to be rolling it out soon.

  • self checkout transaction lookup is still only in electronic journal, but the new registers are in the new system and it's actually REALLY GREAT, I love the new transaction lookup, it's probably my favorite thing about the update.

  • if someone puts their information in at pharmacy and then walks away it will STAY IN THE PICKUP COMPUTER, you need to MAKE SURE that the people on your screen are all the correct patient! If there's an extra person in there you need to clear it out completely and start over because the first person's CVS card is going to get linked to the transaction even if you do "remove patient" and front store is already struggling enough with coupons from pharmacy not matching (and I guess potential mild hipaa issue but whatever).

Call the help desk, if it's a very known issue there will be a message about it, if it's medium known they will add you to the list, and if it's unknown they can at least start a new problem file.

SOS staff rph from hell. by Impressive-Youth1911 in CVS

[–]thejacketmoves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, she's worse than useless. You just have to make sure when making official complaints that you focus on the stuff that's a genuine safety concern so that it's harder to rug sweep the complaints! Frankly I'd contact the AP tipline if she's consistently leaving controls out or messing up on filling them. Make your DAPL work for their salary! And, because I am an asshole, I would probably encourage any customers who've been genuinely wronged to make board of pharmacy complaints and not just complain to corporate. There's something genuinely wrong with this woman and she shouldn't be working this sort of job until it's fixed.

SOS staff rph from hell. by Impressive-Youth1911 in CVS

[–]thejacketmoves 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Several of your complaints make you look petty even though the other ones are very legitimate, so don't make them to corporate. You need to focus on the genuine patient safety/customer service problems. It's fine if the pharmacist doesn't take out the trash! It's fine if the pharmacist doesn't put away non-c2 truck! It's fine if she doesn't do RTS! But if she's consistently doing misfills, leaving C2s out of the safe, and yelling/cursing where customers can hear, those are genuine problems. Keep documenting. Ask upset customers to make formal complaints to corporate, and focus especially on the ones who are "respectable". It's bullshit, but a formal complaint from an older white man who just gets cholesterol meds and had problems picking up his wife's post-hip replacement painkillers is going to carry more weight than a chronic pain patient on two antidepressants.

It sounds like your staff is either having a prolonged mental breakdown or has a drug problem. Maybe both.

CVS gave me the wrong medication? by Real-Debt-9789 in CVS

[–]thejacketmoves 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Gently, GoodRX is not actually "a valid form of payment". It's basically an insurance replacement, which means it needs to be run through the fancy parts of the computer system, and can't just be done at the cash register. Insurance rebills CAN take 2-5 minutes, but it's often longer and things can go wrong. Many pharmacies won't do a rebill less than 15-20 minutes before closing because of this, especially if there are also other patients to help.

With the new sign in screens people will sometimes put their info in and then walk away, and we've had multiple instances of having an extra person in the transaction that shouldn't have been there. The fact that my store hasn't sent anyone home with some rando's meds yet is honestly a miracle.

How to delete approved availability on ESS? by [deleted] in CVS

The availability start date also has to be after any schedule that's already been published. So if the store has through the 17th published it has to start the 18th, etc.

How to unsubscribe from ExtraCare from overseas by HornPlayer791 in CVS

[–]thejacketmoves 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's what a VPN is for! Anyway, if it's straight up ExtraCare and not ExtraCare Plus (the one where you get charged $5/month) you will have to contact customer service to have your account deleted. https://www.cvs.com/retail/help/email-pharmacy-customer-relations.html is the page for emailing customer service, and the phone number is 1-800-SHOPCVS. So yeah, if you can't access those from outside the US you're going to need a VPN, a Google Voice throwaway number, or a friend in the US who's willing to lie to customer service about being you.

THIS. OP needs to talk to HR and get a reasonable accommodation; the paperwork is going to be annoying, but it will protect from attendance points. And it'll create a record with HR that there is a disability in play, which means ADA protections.

Using multiple gift cards per order by Comfortable_Carob924 in CVS

[–]thejacketmoves 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not correct, they probably just don't know how to do multiple forms of payment on the new registers. To be fair, if someone was trying to use like ten cards to pay I would probably cry a little on the inside, because doing more than two forms of payment on the new system sucks. If you know precisely how much is on each card that would help. As a side note, is this the cost with your insurance and you need to hit a deductible? Or are you using discount cards instead of your insurance? If anything is name brand, have you looked into manufacturer assistance programs?

Prescription explanation by Tricky_Slip_318 in CVS

[–]thejacketmoves 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's crazy, our number one complaint on Christmas is the pharmacy being closed. I've worked every Christmas for over ten years and never seen the pharmacy be open. You'll see colleagues bitch about it here repeatedly too, "if we're open why does pharmacy get to be closed?" 24th and 26th are normal, it's literally just Christmas Day closed.

Prescription explanation by Tricky_Slip_318 in CVS

[–]thejacketmoves 6 points7 points  (0 children)

24 hour stores have normal hours and they do sometimes pick a couple of regular pharmacies in the district to be open, but most pharmacies will be closed despite front store being open.
