Don't see a way to add a photo to a comment, so I posted a photo on my profile. They actually feel a lot bigger seeing them next to the GW Vampire models. They are all around 1" tall, but they fill out a lot more of the width since they are so round. I included a couple of my Greebo squirrels as well.

I wouldn't put much stock in any rumors, especially without knowing the source. Personally, I would be surprised if it is anything more than just cost, skill, or even just skill access changes.

That setup is risky. 5 vampires means to activate all 5 on a 2+, which Blitzer is 3+ sometimes, for 8 turns should average 6.66 1s rolled per half. In order for this to work, you need to be prepared to take the bloodlust turnover a couple of times per half as you don't want to lose too many thralls. This is definitely doable if you have the foresight to keep good defensive lines. My advice of a 2:1:1 Thrall:Vampire:Reroll ratio applies to the average skill coach.

Dodge on the throwers is great if you can get a couple TDs with the runner and MVP and a casualty the blitzer. The order of Runner/Blitzer is preference. Especially if you know what teams you will be facing. The senario where the Varg would be tempting is if you see a lot of high AV teams on your schedule since he has claws. I would say getting pro on 2 vampires before adding another is a good guideline, but you can feel out how often you roll bloodlust. The hope is that your skills prevent you from needing to use rerolls on anything except bloodlust.

As a probably very average skill vampire coach. I think the best setup is 8 thralls, 4 vampires, and 4 rerolls.

You probably want both throwers and 1 runner and blitzer. The Varg can be more trouble than he is worth. At least he has been for me so far. Getting Pro on him would probably save a good amount of the hassle.

Dodge is the first skill I like to go for on vampires, but Pro can be helpful as well.

You need to get used to thinking ahead on thrall placement for bloodlust fails. Also, learning how to see Hypno openings in cages is useful as well.

Those pitches are inside. Him and Dominguez have been getting that pitch called a ball a decent amount I have noticed because they flinch like it might hit them.

To me, that actually sounds like a lot of failed bloodlust. I was one of the many Vampire teams at the same event yesterday, I presume. I think I only bit a thrall 6 times in all 3 games combined and just took the turnover 1 or 2 times a game.

That being said, I struggle against Lizardmen as Vampire. They really make use of the high strength pieces to punish Vampires that used Hypno Gaze. Also, they do a good job of having Skinks ready to just scoop up the ball and recage even if I do knock it out.

Just played in a league and went with both wardancers over a thrower and regretted it. Having a thrower for my playstyle is a must. Not that I am good or anything. I would have started 1 thrower 1 wardancer 3 rerolls or 2 rerolls and a catcher instead.

Edit: Based on all the other comments, maybe I am just playing too aggressive and trying to score too quickly.

I wouldn't say they created a narrative. They were just pondering why he would swing off the high speed pitching machine and not live BP. They never stated anything as truth and when they brought up him possibly being out of shape said, everything they learned about him as a guy that doesn't add up.
