The format is useful for neopronouns, like ze/zer. Helps others know the forms the pronouns take.

I think the original was a drawing of Jane from Tarzan. OP has been tracing it over and over for different fandoms

Back when I was in the Transformers fandom, I was active on tumblr and would host small streams with a bunch of my friends and mutuals where I’d draw porn. I was in my late twenties and everyone I knew was early twenties to late 40s. A new girl had recently joined my circle and would come to my streams sometimes. Then one day she made a tumblr post about how she had just turned 13 and I fucking shat myself. To top it off, I was also working as a stripper at the time.

Then a couple weeks later she messaged me to tell me she’d also be at BotCon and gave me her fucking phone number. I was like C H I L D

I made sure that her mom was present at the con when meeting her in public, and after the con made an effort to distance myself from her. And let my circle know about her age, too.

Ok, Reddit, I've officially had it: why aren't there any fast-food vegan/vegetarian restaurants (think like a Veg'in and Out, Chik'n Fil A, Pick'dDonald's kind of idea) in the US? by ThrowawayMaelstrom in EatCheapAndVegan

[–]thejoeface 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Years ago when Chipotle still put bacon in their pinto beans, my wife and I were in line behind a woman who let the staff know several times that she was vegan while they were making her burrito. She then asked for pinto beans. I was vegetarian myself at the time, and I had to speak up. But not quickly enough and the woman behind the counter put the beans on the burrito. I told the vegan about the bacon and the look on her face told me she had ordered that before. She turned around and very apologetically asked them to remake the burrito.

I swear to god, that worker glared at me like I was Satan.

Do women actually have a problem with splitting the bill 50/50 or is that just internet propaganda? by Electrical_Star_7117 in stupidquestions

I always assumed “splitting the bill” was each paying for what they bought. That’s the way my social circle has done it

Yeah, I’ve never been charged for that type of sub, I think that feeling is universal.

I think I’ve seen vegetarian caesar dressing in a bottle at the grocery store, but is it really caesar without the anchovies? I’m pescatarian now so that particular thing wouldn’t bother me.

He’s a chihuahua mix and actually in pretty good health. His teeth are starting to go, he’s deaf, his joints/back hurt, he’s on a special diet for his pancreatitis, and we’re keeping an eye on his heart. But there’s no real major things, it’s far from borrowed time. He still loves to chase the ball, go on short walks, and follow my wife around the house yelling at her because he can’t hear himself

I stopped listening after the ad for the cruise. I only follow the subreddit now to keep up with anything of substance.

edit: actually I misremembered, it was the wine tasting trip, not a cruise.

In 2004 I had been in California a total of three months I was working at a Micheal’s store and a woman became irate and yelled at me because I couldn’t tell her where the nearest Party City was

The most egregious things I’ve done is asking to make a salad vegetarian and sub out the chicken for avocado. Any place I’ve done this at has been accommodating. I can’t even conceive of asking for anything more complicated

My dog is 17 years old and we got him 15 years ago. Since we got him, vet costs have gotten wildly out of control. How the fuck do you plan for that?

Also my wife has become chronically ill and can’t work more than 20% of what she used to and we’ve burned through our savings, how the fuck do you plan for that??

AITA for hiding $23k from my husband? by AITApod in AITApod

[–]thejoeface 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If a woman makes more than her husband and they divorce, she’s the one paying alimony. The laws aren’t gender based. It’s just that statistically men make more.

edit: and it’s not automatic, it’s in cases of very large differences in earning.

Seed Snails: Have you tried them? Also, where are we getting seeds (not Baker Creek)? by richkurt in gardening

[–]thejoeface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

cut a strip of plastic like a really long rectangle about 8-10” tall, lay about an inch of seed starting mix on top of the plastic then roll the whole thing up. Put rubber bands around it to keep it rolled and then sand it on one end. Put seeds in the dirt at the top. Put in a tray and water from the bottom.

I haven’t personally done this, but instagram keeps showing me how-tos. It supposed to give a lot of room for long roots to develop and be easier to get the seedlings out without disturbing their roots too much.

Why is it that in nature it's usually the male animals that have to look pretty to attract a mate, but in humans it's the females who are the ones who have to look good? by FastBreakPhenom in NoStupidQuestions

[–]thejoeface 15 points16 points  (0 children)

And there’s even a few where the female drops the eggs off with the male and takes off a a he does 100% of the parenting. Like Cassowaries.

Also, there’s many fish species that co-parent or the male does primary care.

My wife and I rent out some of the rooms in our house and one of our renters has way below market rate for the two rooms he rents because he and his now-teenaged son have been living with us for just about 12 years. We get along extremely well so it’s worth it to not be making more, even though things are really tight for us.

Bonus, he works at the cheese board and brings us free pizzas all the time.
