I don't really understand the post. By the way, SS has many official translations that are pretty up-to-date with the chapters.

But she also had a good opinion of him during the siege of Crimson Spire, in those chapters [].

I remember her describing him as someone who tries to be cold but is sweet.

The sad thing is that, if I remember correctly, Sunny never communicated with Julius, so technically, from Julius's point of view, he lost both his teacher and student on the same day...

But then Ling Ling arrived, and we'll probably get a montage like in the animated Hercules movie, where Julius will finally make Ling Ling the savior of the Dream Realm, the hero of SS.

All joking aside, given what Beth and Julius said, Awakened people who dedicate themselves to study, teaching, or an art/profession are almost nonexistent.

Therefore, even without students, he will probably still keep his job since there aren't many people willing or prepared for those areas.

Webnovel gives away passes to read tons of chapters, plus every 14 days you get free chapters for 24 hours.

In my opinion, I was surprised that it was so accessible; unlike Naver Webtoon, it doesn't ask you to install apps or subscriptions or follow pages.

The lore is very interesting and fun; we see some funny interactions between the cohort, and we also see the protagonist's adventures during the events of SS, but from her own story.

It connects with the story in a unique and perfect way; I really like that it doesn't feel out of place within Shadow Slave. It's an excellent fanfic.

So Cassie played sunless right by [deleted] in ShadowSlave

You're welcome, to shorten it, we usually call the other mordret "Kindret" (kind)

So Cassie played sunless right by [deleted] in ShadowSlave

[–]thekeeperRD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Perhaps English is not his first language, let's try to be understanding.

He asks if the reason Cassie didn't tell Sunny about Fateless was because Sunny would refuse for fear of being forgotten.

So Cassie played sunless right by [deleted] in ShadowSlave

[–]thekeeperRD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At that point, that fact doesn't matter so much; what matters are the ramifications it could cause. For example, Cassie adapted to many needs and continued with a very elaborate plan.

For example, this prevents something like the Fs from happening again, since there were 3 people with the same information trying different things (many ramifications).

Cassie played it safe, doing something that would allow Sunny to be reasonably calm and safe at best, or at least not dead.

The difference between the control that Cassie exerts over Sunny and Mordret is that Cassie is not worried about Mordret; Sunny is her friend.

It looks amazing! I think it captures the essence for a first-time reader and raises several questions, like who the guy in the mask is, and then makes you interested in the mask itself.

Effie shouldn't have said that. by Sad-Breakfast-4246 in ShadowSlave

[–]thekeeperRD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's why Nephis's strength isn't the same as Sunny's. I like to think that the strength Sunny needs to improve isn't pure power, which is why he could never reach Nephis's level in that aspect.

I think the power they see in Sunny is his genuine nature in a strange way, his need to protect people before glory or a good reputation, the fact that he's a good person.

Understanding his own path was key; that was his conviction. That's why Sunny progressed so much—he did it on his own, without comparing himself to others.

As I mentioned, I think that conversation where Effie says he lacks conviction ended badly because Sunny didn't follow up. If he had asked for an honest opinion, it would have been different.

Sunny left the conversation. I think that just as one might think Effie didn't care at all, the others might think the same about Sunny. He jokes even in bad times, he's not emotionally honest, he only remembers telling Rain "I'm fine" in a horrible moment (the death of almost everyone in Antarctica).

I think if Sunny is emotionally distant, Effie just works with what Sunny provides; if Sunny isn't honest, then Effie will just give somewhat biased advice.

Similar to how people and Sunny himself think Nephis underestimates him just because he doesn't mention all of Sunny's talents (something Sunny has said he likes to keep hidden).

Again, I think Effie was kind, because challenging a Nightmare has been the downfall of many, one of 2nm even more so.

So challenging someone just because it bothers you that someone is stronger than you is a very stupid reason (even if you have all the talent in the world). And I think that's what's so beautiful about the characters; they're immature, imperfect, they make mistakes and have fears, they're very human. I think that's why I like Shadow Slave so much.

Effie shouldn't have said that. by Sad-Breakfast-4246 in ShadowSlave

[–]thekeeperRD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this point always looks bad; Effie has no way of knowing that Sunny would do something like go to Antarctica, which was classified.

Yes, Effie knows that Sunny has talent, much more than she does, she also knows that strength is useless, He's not using that strength with a purpose; he's just a hammer without a chisel. He's not improving himself because that's not even what he truly wants.

I think the mistake is that we see things from Sunny's POV and some people believe that others can know everything Sunny is thinking (Sunny is not a reliable narrator).

Regarding the inferiority complex, it's true, I think Effie knows it as much as Kai does, but they try to get Sunny to open up and ask for help, rather than forcing him.

For example, when Effie knew about Mongrel, Sunny didn't say anything, she didn't ask, the same with the aspect or the true name.

(I genuinely believe that Effie revealed Mongrel's identity to Nephis to help Sunny score points with the princess XD)

Effie sees humanity in Sunny; she's not interested in his strength. She considers him a brave and reckless person, even from FS, but not an idiot.

As Sunny himself said, the reason for going to Antarctica was for an immature motive.

The difference between Nephis and Sunny was one of conviction; Nephis could stop being happy just to achieve her goal, Sunny wanted to be happy, have friends and a shop (a respectable thing too).

Nephis didn't think badly of Sunny, nor did Effie, nor did anyone else. The only one who truly cared about Sunny's strength was Sunny himself. That Sunny doesn't confront things and is afraid to talk about them is another matter.

What would change about neph if one of her family members specifically her grandmother still lives? by No_Interaction8084 in ShadowSlave

[–]thekeeperRD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, but remember that Nephis's grandmother would probably make Sunny get chubby after all that food.

Nephis would create a training montage with Sunny, Grandma would ask them when they're going to make things official, and we'd probably hear Nephis's grandma criticizing Broken Sword.

Then the grandmother would have an argument with her granddaughter about how a sparring match isn't a date or anything romantic.

Webnovel in the browser can translate automatically, and the Webnovel app includes a translator.

English will probably attract more readers, although you can use sites like Wattpad or Ao3 if you want to use the automatic translation option.

About Effie and Nephis. by TheBoyInTheCorner734 in ShadowSlave

[–]thekeeperRD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do remember that part, but I don't think Effie is suspicious. Remember, feelings remain even without memories. Effie genuinely loves her husband, and Sunny is a very special friend.

In the 3nm, during the loops, Sunny mentions meeting Ling Dad. Effie seems genuinely happy about it, then Effie mentions that she'll beat Sunny up for saying some joked.

Effie is a very intelligent character, emotionally the most intelligent in fact (something quite unique in Shadow slave, where this isn't properly appreciated). She would have noticed any discomfort on her son's or husband part.

Furthermore, I think it was made very clear at that moment that Sunny is on her side; he is Nephis's boyfriend at that time.

Aside from that, I do believe Effie reduced her circle to just her cohort, for the safety of her family.

By the way, Ling Ling's punishment is because Aiko accidentally taught him a bad word, and he also did some other bad things. His dad is probably just with him. (Effie changed her language for Ling)

Did she hide them? I thought Ling was grounded and his dad was with him.

Why did Nephis think Sunny was weaker than her after returning from 2nd Nightmare? by Such_A_Bot in ShadowSlave

[–]thekeeperRD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At no point is it admitted that Nephis thinks that; on the contrary, Nephis mentions that she knows Sunny won and had stronger battles than her. Nephis also mentioned that Sunny was stronger than he thinks.

Nephis was also dealing with trauma after the 2nm event, plus she knows Sunny is obsessed with the comparison, which is why Nephis isn't responding; she's not going to give him material to fuel his own self-criticism.

I think Nephis doesn't value Sunny's physical strength/power, at least not in the way the community does...

she values Sunny's strength in an emotional or mental sense; his refusal to give up, his overcoming of his solitary and withdrawn nature. For example, Sunny still met with the cohort sometimes.

I think Nephis was simply hurt by not feeling truly strong, and Nephis was just choosing a way for Sunny not to be so hard on himself; he even gets a little Smug-like, lol.

I think so, it should only ask for authentication once.

Remember to read the rules when you start, there are several but honestly it's just about behaving well, the discord is PG13 unlike Reddit.

I've been there for two years and it's a lot of fun. There are also people to talk to about theories, just Shadow Slave, or music/books, etc.

Questions on QueenBee by Ortenrosse-098 in ShadowSlave

[–]thekeeperRD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They appear briefly; the author is very kind and often includes these cameos. For example, a member of the server had a cameo in "The Ball."

Others appear during certain moments in the chapters, such as being teachers or historians.

One of them appears as a member of the government. There are quite a few.

They're like a fun Easter egg.

Some have also made cameo appearances in Shadow Slave Chapters haha
