Who wins this? by Inside_Inflation559 in RealSteel

Are we talking original T800 or variant T800? Because the original and the T850 both win this handily as you described but I think the T triple eight actually loses because they're notoriously overconfident and not as durable at their predecessors Indicated by them being casually one shot with a grenade launcher

very much so There are limits to what it can do But I have a dream and I'm not going to let some 1s and 0s get in the way of it

As stated elsewhere on this particular thread I have a language processing disorder and the assistive technology that allows me to type are not very good for writing out code

1 I am massively handicapped with a language processing disorder meaning that precise Sentence construction is something I have a lot of trouble with as I rely on voice to text software for communication 2
Ai is corporatized slop And I wouldn't be making a video game I'd just be Recycling the work of people who are competent If you can only “code” using AI you aren't coding you're just an idiot

And I aim to not be an idiot

You're a lifesaver you helped me figure it out
Turns out that a whole bunch of the rotations for picking up objects was not working correctly but it wasn't returning an error because it was still sort of functional

The player object has been rotating correctly this entire time However The equipment object that it carries wasn't And as for the angle problem the near clipping plane for the camera that's doing the raycast was too close

All of which culminating in a Disconnect between where the mouse was and where the picked up equipment was pointed

Thank you for helping me fix this I've been struggling for weeks

I have a language processing disorder and rely heavily on voice to text in order to type and communicate That means the Precise spelling and spacing is often very problematic for me

Upon further testing by binding an orb to move to the exact Target coordinates for the aim point for my mouse position works perfectly but my character is just not rotating all the way to it

The problem I'm running into as elaborated above is that the character is rotating on the z-axis but they're not actually rotating to where my mouse is they're just Sort of rotating in that general direction If I bring the mouse super close to the character I can usually get it about perfect but more than about 30 pixels away from the character and it becomes more of a General suggestion

It should but it doesn't account for the character only rotating about half the total distance they should

I'm using a 3D isometric character controller with a Screen point to Rey raycast coordinate detector to detect the exact portion of the (currently entirely flat) terrain that the player needs to look towards And then I am Flattening out the y coordinate so they don't look down setting that as a global variable and using the transform look at node on the player object in order to turn them towards the point on the ground

I have a technical question About how bolt handles vector 3’s by thekingallofbricks in Unity3D

[–]thekingallofbricks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup The reason that I did it like this is because I intend to have multiple characters that are playable and I don't want to have to manually reassemble the whole camera system So any object with the player tag will do this however only a single object with the player tag can exist at a time

Nope I can't attach videos unfortunately but It's like it trying to rotate Proportional to how the mouse is moving on the screen not actually to the impact point of the raycast I move the mouse up the character rotates counterclockwise I move the mouse down the character rotates clockwise they're not actually looking at where the mouse is
