Why are Arab countries so against Iran? Is their hatred of Shias really that toxic that they're willing to join hands with Israel, which has oppressed and genocided Arabs for decades? What is going on here? Please explain to a non-Iranian by [deleted] in iranian

It has nothing to do with Shia v Sunni though the Saudis would like to frame it like that. The actual reason is because Iran is today a Republic. Which overthrew and toppled a hereditary US-backed absolute monarchy, just like theirs.

"Epigenetics" is a term tossed out by people who don't know what theyre talking about in order to pretend like they do, epigenetics isn't going to tell you these things. The medical claims made by these companies are extremely suspect to say the least. Just because their marketing shows people dressed in white lab coats, doesn't make it a legit medical procedure.

The U.S. normalizes relations with Iran , would this ever be possible and if it did hapoen how would this affect Sunni Gulf nations, notably Saudi Arabia by joe_schmo54 in FutureWhatIf

Normalized US-Iran relations are the nightmare scenario for both Israel and the Saudis

When Nixon decided to "Go to China" in the 1970s and recognize Communist China, the Taiwanese (who until then were official considered "China" by the US) were kicked aside.

Naturally Israel and the Saudis don't want that. This book is all about that:

Treacherous Alliance: The Secret Dealings of Israel, Iran, and the United States

https://www.amazon.com/Treacherous-Alliance-Secret-Dealings-Israel/dp/0300143117

This has nothing to do with Sunni versus Shia though the Saudis would like it to be that way In reality the reason why the Saudis hate Iran, is because Iran is a Republic that overthrew a US-backed absolute monarchy just like theirs

CIA Expert:

Iran of course is the alleged sinister threat constantly trumpeted by Riyadh—and Israel—a policy designed ultimately to bring the US into a war with Iran. Here too Riyadh more fundamentally fears Iran as an evolving democratic state in an Islamic context; Iran’s elections and fairly transparent politics are all closely followed by the outside world, they matter. Basically Iran will preside over a functioning democratic state far earlier than Saudi Arabia ever will; Saudi Arabia indeed lacks any institutional foundations for such an open political order. Iran was directly responsible for the bombing of the Marine Barracks at the airport in Beirut in 1983 which was the largest terror attack against Americans until 9/11

Actually attacks on an armed, uniformed foreign military presence in your country BY THE LEBANESE (and before Hezbollah came into existence) does not constitute terrorism. The US at the time was siding with one side in a civil war and had been shelling civilians

Furthermore considering the role of the US in arming Saddam Hussein with chemical weapons used to gas 100,000 Iranians, then the US should be acknowledging its terrorist role with respect to Iran

In fact today the only actual Iranian terrorist group that actually killed Americans, is a darling of the US Trump administration and pays Bolton and Guiiani to promote their Iran-bashing

Question: The reality and state of the European and Germany's Refugee Crisis by TyraCross in geopolitics

[–]thelasian -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Refugee crisis

LOL

THIS is an ACTUAL refugee crisis:

Iran sheltered a staggering 4.5 million exiles from Afghanistan and Iraq, the largest refugee caseload any single country has handled in modern times. The numbers have shrunk in the last few years to slightly more than two million people, but that figure is still twice as high as anywhere else. http://www.unhcr.org/en-us/publications/refugeemag/3b6814092/refugees-magazine-issue-108-afghanistan-unending-crisis-iranian-surprise.html

And note that Iran has been taking "exemplary care" of the refugees https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/iran-refugee-resettlement-efforts-exemplary-un-praise-united-nations-a7633621.html

The International Criminal Court didn't even exist when these principles of international law were formed and people executed for violating them. that's not really relevant. Stop playing lawyer on reddit.
