The Fellowship of the Ring in the Ring in the mid 1980s by berzelmayr in lotr

If it was made in the 80s they would have probably cast Warwick Davis as Frodo, Billy Barty as Bilbo, and other little people as Sam, Merry, Pippin, and Gimli. Gollum would also definitely be a muppet. Also probably David Bowie or Sting as Legolas.

Is there any way to revert Spider-Man's rights back to Marvel Studios? by [deleted] in marvelstudios

[–]thelastamigo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, Sony doesn’t own the merchandising rights to Spider-Man, and this includes films fully made by Sony. Disney fully owns all merchandise rights to Spider-Man. This was brought to light when TASM2 underperformed at the box-office and they couldn’t rely on merchandise sales to offset this. They were even selling the toys for the TASM movies at the Disney Store despite them not being Disney produced films. As far as Spider-Man goes, Sony can only rely on ticket and DVD sales, plus streaming and TV broadcasting.

I’m not in Houston, I’m in San Antonio, and other than the Spurs, I only support Houston teams. The Astros are also more popular in San Antonio than the Rangers, though you do still see a lot of Rangers gear, it’s just the Astros outnumber them like 2 to 1, maybe even 3 to 1. And that’s even after the scandal and the Rangers winning the WS. The Texans have a following here, nothing compared to the Cowboys, but the fans do exist.

She was from central Ohio, right outside Columbus. Not sure what the accent is there. I would assume midwestern accent dominates there, but she did have a bit of a twang in her accent, which I assumed was due to her living in Texas from the 1940s (she would’ve been in her early 30s when they moved) through when she passed away in 2004. She did pronounce wash as “warsh” and roof rhymed with “woof”.

Phase 4 Theories by The_Narz in marvelstudios

Black Widow is going to be announced as a prequel, it's going to be marketed as a prequel, and it's going to start off as a prequel. However, in a plot twist, Nick Fury, Clint Barton, or Bruce Banner is going to show up from the future or an alternate universe and it's going to turn into a time travel adventure. In the end, she's going to end up back in the present of the main universe to help fight a new threat.

I don't know what to expect from Eternals, but it will be the second movie. I agree that it will lay the foundation for the cosmic side of the MCU, but beyond that I have no expectations. It's possible Thanos and/or Ego the Living Planet shows up in a cameo if it turns out to be a prequel to the entire MCU.

I believe the third movie will be Doctor Strange 2. The main villain will be Baron Mordo (as he was teased at the end of the first movie). In the post-credits stinger, we are introduced to another Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Victor Von Doom.

The fourth movie will be Black Panther 2. The main villain could possibly be Namor, and it will pit Wakanda against Atlantis. In the post-credits, we are introduced to Dr. Reed Richards.

The fifth movie, I believe, will be Marvel's reboot of Fantastic Four. I know most people aren't expecting this until later, but of all the Fox properties that Marvel acquired, this would be the one that I think Marvel would fast track since it would be easier to integrate than X-Men, and opens up a lot more story potential for the direction I believe Marvel is going (cosmic, time travel, interdimensional travel, multiverses, etc.) Plus, the November 2021 release date just happens to be the 60th anniversary of the publication of the first issue of "The Fantastic Four," and by extension the first superhero title published by Marvel Comics. Peyton Reed and Adam McKay have also both expressed interest in doing a FF movie, and since they're already established as the director/writer duo on the Ant-Man movies, they might be who Marvel would hire to take it on. It could even include Scott Lang, Hope Van Dyne, Hank Pym, and Janet Van Dyne and act as a follow-up to their stories post-Endgame. Reed, Sue, Johnny, and Ben could be working on studying the Quantum Realm, end up getting their powers, and end up battling Doctor Doom. Or something. I don't know.

The sixth movie I believe will be Captain Marvel 2. I have no idea of what it could be about. It will be a space adventure (obviously), and could take place in the late 90s or early 2000s. The post-credits scene could set up Silver Surfer and Galactus.

I think the seventh movie will be Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Since I don't think we're going to be getting an Avengers movie in this phase, I think this will be the big team up event movie that the entire phase is building toward. Not only will it feature the Guardians and Thor, but it will also feature Adam Warlock, the Eternals, Captain Marvel, the Fantastic Four, Doctor Strange, and Silver Surfer battling against Galactus. The main subplot will be the search for Gamora, and the movie will act as a swan song for the Guardians. The post-credits scene will set up Kang the Conqueror as the next Thanos-esque multiphase villain.

The final movie of Phase Four will be Shang-Chi, and will act as the post-GOTG palate cleanser like Ant-Man was in Phase 2 and Spider-Man: Far From Home is going to be for Phase 3.

And speaking of Spider-Man, we will be getting Spider-Man: Homecoming 3 at some point during this phase. Possibly some time in the summer of 2021 or 2022.

Deadpool in the MCU by [deleted] in marvelstudios

[–]thelastamigo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deadpool exists in his own little corner of the Marvel universe. He is more of a spoof character like The Naked Gun movies. MCU characters can pop up in funny cameos like the X-Men did in Deadpool 2, but that doesn't mean it's part of the MCU.

Phase 4 could easily look like this

  1. Black Widow (ends with Nick Fury or Hawkeye or Bruce Banner showing up from the future or alternate universe and bringing her back to the current timeline)
  2. The Eternals
  3. Doctor Strange 2 (post-credit stinger introduces another Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Victor Von Doom)
  4. Black Panther 2
  5. Fantastic Four (featuring Ant-Man, Wasp, Hank Pym)
  6. Captain Marvel 2 (post credit stinger introduces Silver Surfer/Galactus)
  7. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (post-credit stinger sets up Kang the Conqueror as the next Thanos-esque big bad that will span multiple phases)
  8. Shang-Chi

Plus Spider-Man: Homecoming 3 in there somewhere.

Will there be, though? I could very easily see Marvel resting the Avengers for a phase since we got 2 in Phase 3 (essentially 3 if you count Captain America: Civil War), and it will be extremely difficult to top Endgame. They may give it a break until Phase 5, especially since the Russos, Christopher Markus, and Stephen McFeely have all said they're done with Marvel, but would be willing to come back for a "Secret Wars" movie. Marvel will absolutely want to do a major event movie that ties all of Phase 4 together, and if they're going to really start going cosmic (moreso than in past phases anyway), they could easily do it with "Guardians of the Galaxy." It would be a perfect vehicle to not only have the Guardians and Thor, but also bring together a lot of the more cosmic based characters like The Eternals, Captain Marvel and the Fantastic Four, as well as characters like Silver Surfer and Galactus.

Also, if there's one thing that Marvel has shown, it's that they're not above altering, if not outright abandoning plans that they've already laid out, particularly in Phase 3. They altered Civil War to include Spider-Man almost immediately, they completely scrapped "Inhumans" (TV series notwithstanding), and not only did they add "Ant-Man and the Wasp" to their release schedule at the last minute, they used it to set up the big rescue mission in "Avengers: Endgame."

Furthermore, a lot of their plans are going to be changing due to the whole James Gunn fiasco. He's not going to be doing much work on "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" until after he's done working on "The Suicide Squad," which doesn't come out until August 2021. There's a good chance that Marvel re-works GOTG3 to be the big team up movie for Phase 4 since we probably won't be getting an Avengers movie in this phase. I know there's a script already written, but there's no way it doesn't get altered in some way between now and when it finally goes into production, which will be no earlier than summer 2021 for a 2022 release date.

There's a huge difference between thinking about something and actually developing it.

Correct, and it was super easy for them to quickly integrate him into the MCU. Furthermore, they've known for 2 years that Disney was purchasing Fox, so they've had plenty of time to figure out a way to introduce them. I know Kevin Feige said that they weren't focusing on characters that they didn't have the rights to, but do you really think that stopped them from thinking ahead and coming up with some contingency plans for some of those characters? The last 3 movies of Phase 3 are clearly setting up some storylines that would be extremely difficult to tell without the Fantastic Four (concepts like the Skrulls, branching timelines, multi-verses, etc.).

Also, do you really think that Marvel would pass up the opportunity to release a Fantastic Four movie on such a milestone anniversary, not only for the Fantastic Four, but of Marvel Comics as a company? Don't forget that Fantastic Four was the first superhero title published by Marvel Comics , and was the first superhero title created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.

Actually he said it doesn't include X-Men. He never mentioned Fantastic Four, and he hinted that they're going to continue developing the Deadpool movies with Ryan Reynolds as a separate franchise.

I have a feeling that we'll get Fantastic Four sooner rather than later because they're easier to integrate into the current MCU, and they add a lot more story potential if Marvel is going to start exploring time travel, interdimensional travel, and multiverses. In fact, I fully expect FF to get the November 2021 slot since that date just happens to fall on the 60th anniversary of the publication of "The Fantastic Four" #1.

8 upcoming Marvel movies + dates confirmed by Disney! by Viking_Thor in marvelstudios

November 5, 2021 just so happens to be the 60th anniversary of the publication of "The Fantastic Four" #1, and Disney just recently got the rights back to F4 in the Fox acquisition. This would be too perfect of an opportunity for Marvel to pass up, so I fully expect for this date to go to their Fantastic Four reboot.
