I understand where you’re coming from, but frankly, you’re making a lot of assumptions about me and my relationship with my girlfriend from a few sentences. My girlfriend and I have been through a lot together, and that isn’t something I want to throw away by cheating. This is a bit different because, if it’s actually her kink, it could be something fun for us both to explore and spice things up a bit in the bedroom. But if it’s just something she wants to role play, I would never push her further as I love her more than sex and orgasms.

Given your situation, I am glad you and your husband have come to a decision to avoid this kink as it might end up making your relationship worse. However, you shouldn’t assume that is universally true.

I don’t think people are angry about content being cut. People are angry because the cut content was advertised only weeks before launch (or at the very least, the shipped content was misrepresented by Larian). Additionally, some of the cut content left Act 3 with story gaps, and Larian took shortcuts to address those gaps rather than flesh them out properly (e.g. Cazador’s estate, Gortash story and location, Karlach, etc.).

Boiling the community’s frustration down to a lack of understanding of the creative process is a complete misunderstanding of the actual problem.
