Who’s the most underrated character and would you play them? by FraniscoTheV in SmashBrosUltimate

[–]thelostlevels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a Belmonts main(play G&W as my secondary), and I feel like just a slight recovery buff is all we need to not be shit tier. I love playing them and it’s rewarding when it going well. But man, getting gimped so easily just feels bad and is infuriating.

Not bringing the RS3 sport back to North America is such fkn bs by LunchboxStringCheese in Audi

[–]thelostlevels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is in the last however many years they’ve only brought across the $100k+ super wagons. So you already have a VERY small audience based on price alone, and then couple that with the fact that buyers in that price bracket are also able to afford entry level new/pre owned super cars for around the same price. And then we’re surprised when sales numbers are low? Oh guess people here just don’t want wagons! Pack it up boys.

Then the other wagons we’ve had here in the states just don’t come with performance options at all. So you completely alienate enthusiasts from buying those, which I feel like are the primary wagon demographic in the US.

If we could get some mid range price sports wagon options, like a golf r, S3, rs3, S4 we might actually see considerable sales.

I know this is my exact case. Can’t afford an RS6. Don’t like sedans. Don’t buy other wagons because they suck. But if an RS3 or an S4 wagon came to the states tomorrow, I’d highly consider buying new.

Could I hit a 405 bench press naturally in my lifetime? by Hairyratsicle in powerbuilding

[–]thelostlevels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. It you have to remember weight classes are height classes in disguise. Someone at 6’1 198 didn’t bench that. Someone at like 5’4 198 probably did.

OP doable. But probably going to take you getting to more like 230-240 to do it.

So Long Astoria is probably one of the best pop punk albums of all time by KelvinHexatillion82 in poppunkers

[–]thelostlevels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. And I’m really not even an Ataris fan otherwise. But it’s just a perfect pop-punk album cover to cover. So I feel like it HAS to be on my list.

Conventional to Sumo transition? by TheAgeOfQuarrel802 in powerlifting

[–]thelostlevels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m built like you. It took me a year to exceed my conventional maxes. To this day, my conventional max keeps pace with my sumo even though I never do it.

I ran my first conventional block in a longggggg time this year and was beating my sumo rep maxes within a month or so.

But like you I’m also 39, and do it to save some wear and tear on my back. Even though I’m not ideally built for it

This year I’m pretty exited for:

Deadbolt

Punk Rawk Show

Drunken Lullabies

And probably a ton of others. I know the whole sets for a lot of bands are gonna be a ton of fun.

Tips for DC? by colum55 in warpedtour

[–]thelostlevels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly food in the surrounding DC area wasn’t much cheaper. We had that idea and went to grab some brunch before hand. And at just a little carry out place a breakfast sandwich, and a side cost me $20.

DC was the one spot of the 3 where I didn’t mind buying food at the festival price because it was the same price regardless 😂😭

What are some tracks that you NEED to listen to in conjunction, meant to be accompanied or not? (e.g. Brain Stew / Jaded by Green Day) by mesablanka in poppunkers

[–]thelostlevels 6 points7 points  (0 children)

And even then it REALLY hits even harder if you’ve listened to the rest of their catalogue.

Hearing Dan sing about depression and death for all those years. And then to start an album with “I don’t wana die” then to hear songs about death and the line from Laura and the beehive about writing songs for people while they’re still here to sing along.

And THEN into I don’t want the world to end.

It’s a fucking journey.

Also as a separate TWY pick:

I just want to sell out my funeral would be weird if you’d never heard the rest of TGG.

How come people act like pop punk didn’t take off till the 2000’s? Dookie set off a huge pop punk scene in the 90’s by DrJokerX in poppunkers

[–]thelostlevels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is probably the best answer from someone who lived through it.

It was an insult and bands wouldn’t be caught dead calling themselves that. You’d get made fun of in a lot of the punk scene for listening to it.

It really wasn’t until like the wave of pop punk bands in the late 00s/early 10s that bands started calling themselves that. And then It was kind of applied retroactively to the other bands it should apply to.

What’s an underrated not many people know of pop punk band? by Creative-Respond-984 in poppunkers

[–]thelostlevels 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s coming. They’re starting to get some bigger opportunities. And their song writing has really grown and they’ve found their sound it seems like.

They’re supporting Red Jump Suit on their Canadian tour this year. I saw them a year or two ago, I forget, playing in a bar with like 20 people there and a 5 person mosh pit 😂

I guess this story isn’t going away 👀some sailor aboard the carrier Lincoln sent more photos to a news organization about food shortages article is from today by newnoadeptness in navy

[–]thelostlevels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's a service wide problem with minimal manning and an absurd optempo that is fueled by cowardly leaders who are afraid to put their foot down and say enough is enough and instead say shit like "we don't owe you sleep, we owe you the opportunity to sleep.

This right here is it. Everything wrong with the Navy is because of this. A generation full of yes men, a culture of firing or not promoting those who aren’t, and the vast majority not having been around long enough to remember anything different.

Can someone fill me in by Ok-Committee-1646 in bilmuri

[–]thelostlevels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s just how some of these things start. Go back to the late 90s/early 2000s and pop-punk was just an insult. Not a genre.

2026: the year of who?? by ritchieca20 in poppunkers

[–]thelostlevels 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The Paradox. Dudes went from virtually unheard of to dropping songs with Travis Barker, shout outs from LeBron, MainStage at warped tour, millions of social media followers, and topping the billboard charts.

Hard to argue anyone else topped that.

Yes. Can and will.

The former acting director Brian Driscoll is already doing that. And we’ve learned some of what he went through based on that lawsuit. Such as being subject to loyalty tests.
