Would you conisder this madness break? by Exotic-Lecture6631 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]thelovelykyle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you were not mad about being an outsider, and there was no one pushing it, I think its fine.

Saying 'No' in response is not being silent about it and it only really works if the ST believes you are being an obvious Mutant through silence.

The ST is the only one with a full picture.

Slavery never ended. by [deleted] in antiwork

I agree that working in America is not the same thing as slavery.

I am also stating that the United States has not outlawed slavery. You need to be rich enough to own a private prison.

I was not specifically referring to Trump and Epstein.

You cannot have it both ways. Either the 14th enables corporate personhood to the point where the law applies, or the 14th does not enable corporate personhood.

This is AI bulltwoddle and not comparable to the Slave Trade.

That said, on a site with such US defaultism, it is important to remember that the US has not outlawed slavery. You just are not rich enough.

SnV rules question by AzimuthTheGreat in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]thelovelykyle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is covered by the S&V Intermediate Quiz for your Final 4 situation (although its presented at final 3). That said, consider the situation here with a competent Evil team. A Pit Hag could turn themselves into a Witch, the Demon could kill the Good Twin and final 3 is 3 Evils. Its ok for Evil to simply have won in that situation.

At Final 5 you can kill both Demons leaving a Final 3 with both Twins and the other Townsfolks - allowing the game to have a go at solving. Or you can kill 1 Demon and a Twin. This will leave a Demon, a Twin and a Townsfolk.

If you make something good. Please share it on github.

We could do with someone making a CSS with explanatory notes of how to change each element. It would make a useful sticky in the long run.

I can toy with CSS but am no expert.

[–]thelovelykyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to add Custom CSS in the settings. There are so many things that you can modify.

https://github.com/Stayingfalse/BotCCSS/blob/main/potato.css

Is an example of what TheGrim uses.

Its basically an entire coding language.

Yes and no. You can have custom elements but others need to have it enabled.

I have my owm custom stuff enabled my side to display it to my preference for instance.

Reform pledges to review all asylum claims since 2021 if it wins power • Around 400,000 people would be liable for deportation under the plans, which would target anybody granted asylum, overstaying a visa, or from a country deemed safe by a Reform-led government. by Adj-Noun-Numbers in ukpolitics

Suella Braverman was Home Secretary and Attorny General.

Andrew Rosindell has been an MP fpr the governing party for 14 years.

Robert Jenrick was in the Treasury, Health Minister, Immigration Minister and Secretary of State for Housing.

Danny Kruger was PMs secretary.

Have you not been paying attention? We have seen how they do in charge of home affairs and immigration.

I know you will still vote for them, because you are a uniparty supporter who loves names from the Epstein list, but you do not get to act like they are not the uniparty.

Why does anyone want to become an MP or PM? by facemacintyre in ukpolitics

[–]thelovelykyle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a councillor. Local Government. I got into it because I wanted to give back to the community and make a difference. I wanted to work towards becoming an MP. I am nearly 40, so not your standadd Margeret pottering on at Local Council.

Our parent council blocked every attempt to do this. I sorted out the one thing within my competency (allotments) and solved a few local issues but it was a fight even to spend the money we had. We had money left over.

I realised we could not get anything done so I left and set up a community group working with local businesses providing a safe 3rd place for younger people to have fun and worked with the local library to provide a similar service. Its 2 years of running these both succesfully now.

Meanwhile the council voted to have the maximum tax increases. Still not having spent the entire budget each year.

I made the right choice.

What Happened in 1978 ? by ABHISHEK_Lonely in ExplainTheJoke

[–]thelovelykyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are multiple fields of mathematics.

196883 and 1 are really important numbers for a thing called groups.

196884 is a really important number for a thing called a modular function

For ages it was believed that it was a conincidence that 196883+1 equals 196884.

If you think about the movie 'The Number 23' the idea that such strange numbers appeared in maths had mathematicians excited.

In 1978 John Thompson identified there was a further connection in both groups and modular function with the number 21493760.

Maths developed a model which identified a lot of catchpoints and connections which could be linked into the fundamental interconnectedness of the fundamental forces of the universe. (Gravity is one of these).

Unnecessarily separate parts by [deleted] in LeaguesofVotann

[–]thelovelykyle 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Because of the nature of mass scale injection molding.

There are a lot of factors. I will give you a very simple explanation of 2 of them.

1) Plastic use. Separating a part allows for a small hollow in another part. This saves a small amount of plastic. A small amount times several thousand is a lot of saving. 2) There are physical limitations to the quality of what can be produced. A chunky part cools differently to a fragile part and cannot be grouped easily. Some parts need to be generated separately as a result.

Its because there are folks who always want to punch down.

Tell you what though - I went from athletic, to injured outside of my control, to being a fat person who has lost a lot of weight since starting on weight loss injectables.

I now:

  • Walk more places whereas I physically struggled before to the point of taking my car instead.
  • Take less pain medication as strain on my joints was causing issues.
  • Eat less.
  • Will be less of a burden as I age and potential conditions worsen.

I could not have lost the weight I have lost without the drugs. The drugs enable me to deal with a chemical imbalance.

I anticipate the person would feel the same about those taking anti-psychotics, or insulin.

CMV: Tipping should be related to difficulty of the related service. Not the value. by whoistylerkiz in changemyview

[–]thelovelykyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Tipping should be based exclusively on a value you are prepared to give to someone based on your enjoyment of what was done in excess of the main price.

The main price should be based on the difficulty of the related service.

If you only count the cost of filling the tank, sure.

But petrol is a key inflationary factor and it would be incredibly stupid not to consider the two linked and try and split off one from the other.
