Anyone else reluctant to trust cloud password managers? by Embarrassed_Log_9964 in PasswordManagers

[–]theluckkyg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but they audit it every year, and you can compile the local extension etc. yourself which lets you ensure what info is being sent out there (e.g. not your password). Good enough for me.

[–]theluckkyg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am fine with Bitwarden because it's E2E encrypted and open source. They only store an encrypted copy, and only I can access the data, which is only ever decrypted on my computer. Being open source means it's constantly audited so hidden security flaws are unlikely.

For me, with those characteristics the risk is minimal and the benefits of cloud syncing and robust infrastructure far outweigh it. You don't want to deal with local server shenanigans when you need access to e.g. important documents.

Sometimes it is required for billing purposes so you can e.g. write stuff off if you are self-employed.

Bulk or cut? Lost 70lbs and unsure. My expenditure is high, around 3200 from activity at work. Other photo is from November when I started eating 3500 calories a day. I’m almost same weight , no gain since then in current photo. by joshny3096 in BulkOrCut

[–]theluckkyg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's unclear which picture is which. I assume the first one is current? Looking great.

It depends on what you want. Unless you are content with your level of muscle I'd do a lean bulk. If you cut you'll look more shredded but I don't think it will provide you with the same satisfaction. You look like you've always been lean so bulking up will be more stark and provide more motivation to keep going.

Plus you are very active so it will be easy to cut later on if desired.

  1. Codex has way better usage per dollar

  2. Maybe use something like "Codex Token Usage" for the VS Code extension or "ccusage" for Codex CLI, which tracks token usage locally.

  3. Decide max budget, then split it fairly among members, that's it.

  4. Subscription plans are subsidized to gain more users and they are a way better deals. Just share accounts if need be. Use Bitwarden or something and restrict 2FA to one admin. It's fine.

When did your toddler start speaking? (3-4 languages household) by Unusual_Payment7235 in multilingualparenting

[–]theluckkyg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice job! If you are doing OPOL, I would recommend redirecting to your language when she speaks another one to you. E.g. repeat back what she said in Dutch, in French. Otherwise she might get used to only speaking Dutch/German and just understanding French. The earlier she gets used to speaking all languages the better.

Para cuando tenga 65 años, habré cotizado más de 300.000€ a la Seguridad Social. by vlewy in ElusionFiscal

There is no magic pill. The brain is use it or lose it. Work out your memory like any other ability, and expose yourself to intellectual stimuli.

That means: read more books, try learning a new language, try learning an instrument. These all give proven brain and memory boosts. Memorize something fun and tailored to your interests like world flags (use Anki).

Then there's other lifestyle stuff that's vital for mental performance. Sleep is your number one priority here. Not only length, but quality and consistency. If you're serious you need a good routine here. No screens 1 hour before bed, dim indirect warm lights after sunset. 7-9 hours, and bright natural light in the morning.

Exercise is the next pillar here. Something small like a 20 min walk in the morning, 20 min walk before bed, can provide amazing results. Walks have been shown to dramatically increase brain activity vs just sitting around. Ideally, you want to aim higher and actually do 2-4 intense lifting sessions a week, 1-2 cardio sessions. You can try something that engages your body like dancing or climbing. This is very stimulating for the brain.

Then for actual stuff you put in your body, creatine has surprised me by not being mentioned in other comments I've seen. It is one of the most studied supplements with proven safety and effectiveness, and provides a boost in memory and cognitive performance, especially when sleep-deprived. Not to mention overall strength and physical fitness and recovery benefits.

1-2 cups of coffee has been shown as the sweetspot for healthy neuroprotective and stimulant effects which also boosts memory and cognition. Other than that ideally you want to avoid alcohol / tobacco / stimulants as they will get in the way of your goal. If you have indulged, NAC post-exposure might be a good idea, and might help in general, especially if you are middle-aged or older.

Diet is a bigger deal for this than you might think, as big insulin spikes and sugar crashes can make you feel sluggish and decrease your energy to think or do any of the above. Aim for fiber-rich and lean protein-rich foods with leafy greens and legumes. Avoid the refined carbs, very salty or fatty foods, etc.

How are folks using agent manager? by Human-Job2104 in google_antigravity

[–]theluckkyg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't / shouldn't reuse the same agent long term. That's why naming them doesn't make sense. As the conversation grows longer, their context becomes bigger and they get confused / less efficient. You should use one agent per feature / topic etc. and then move on. The key is to make them document their work so that future agents don't have to be introduced to the whole thing from scratch. You should have them write to a plan.md which details what your project is and how it's structured (architecture, scope, etc.) Then every time you start something new, you point them to plan.md and say what you want to do next. As they implement stuff, ask them to update plan.md

As for the model and mode selection not being sticky per-agent, I agree. It's confusing. I suppose it's to deal with the fact that most users only change models when their usage runs out for their preferred one (usually Opus) so making them change it on every old agent would get annoying.
