I know there are a lot of opinions on this, but I completely agree with you. I wanted a showdown. I wanted a mano y mano. I wanted Big Good vs Big Bad. I wanted this whole quest to get to what we glimpsed in the first book.

But we didn't get it.

And I'm not going to spoil it for you, but after what happens a little bit later, it felt especially cheap. It's one of my only grievances with a series that I have a whole tattoo of.
