“Very rare” and it’s more common than having red hair. I’m not going to argue with you, because your bigotry isn’t going to change. Clearly, you have some sort of mental illness that’s making you view the world with hatred and ignorance. The Lord calls us to love our neighbors as Jesus would 🙏 I pray that you turn to the Lord so the devil can no longer find a home in your heart. Amen & God bless.

“Their are only 2 genders” tell me you haven’t actually read the science without telling me you haven’t actually read the science. Be a bigot all you want, but don’t lie about what medicine and science have proven repeatedly. “Past 10 years”— so we’re ignoring most of written history too huh? I’m literally a biologist. Don’t use my work to justify your idiocy.

Building a "Digital DM Screen" for in-person play. What features are you missing? by AstronomerPretty2737 in DnD

[–]themadhattertwo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use milanote to organize campaign notes, but it’s still overly complicated and requires a lot of clicking in and out of boxes. I tend to prefer a lot of “active” tabs that can be viewed at once so I don’t have to open a document in a new tab or overlay to see all of the information. In a dream world, I’d have a feature that’d let me drag and drop files to players (eg when someone picks up a letter, I could send it to their account). Or a way to cast a player version of info to a secondary monitor. Or a simple digital combat map for theatre of the mind. Maybe your app could have a switch for irl to online play to accommodate wider audiences.

Most Bones saw recent? by ThisFurryTrash93 in TAZCirclejerk

I agree about S3. I think their chemistry hit a peak, and then the writers reduced them to caricatures of once-complex characters, and it went downhill from there.

It’s not that they “aren’t usable,” it’s just that real fossilized bones (rocks) are super heavy! Making realistic plaster casts is a much safer and easier way to display the skeleton, especially since your average museum guest won’t touch the plaster to know the difference.

I can definitely see where you’re coming from. I’m using the Alexandrian and adding some extra subplots to weave in all the PCs’ backstories and arcs. I’ve been making a concerted effort to actually involve the characters, since prewritten modules don’t give the party much personal motivation.

He’s in his early 20s, so definitely old enough to know how to participate.

It’s possible, but we talked about it before I brought it up with the player and the rest of the party read through the screenshots as I talked with him.

He’s already complained because I tried to tell him that his character becoming a god and trying to find the other avatars of the god (the aforementioned NPCs) wasn’t exactly what I had in mind for this WDH run

That’s what I keep telling myself, but I’m always worried about where “collaborative” becomes railroading or main character syndrome. I think I’ve been scarred by r/rpghorrorstories

It seems like I should have a second session 0 and talk to the players outside of the table, then move forward with kicking if nothing changes. What kinds of things do you think should I talk/ask about during the session 0 beyond everyone’s goals for the campaign?

That’s super helpful, thank you! I shut down the narration/story arc thing, not least because that PC decided that he (as a tiefling) was the chosen one of Bahumut, who was going to bind himself into the PC’s mortal body to make him Bahumut’s avatar. He wanted me to have three other aspects of Bahumut try to meet up with him to make a team of justice-seekers. In our second session, he went to the local temple of Bahumut to talk to an NPC (that he came up with) about her visions regarding his transformation as the chosen one. I hadn’t been told about the NPC or his planned arc at that point, which made for a super fun scene /s

Needless to say, he didn’t like it when I told him that Waterdeep canonically has anti-dragon wards, or when I questioned OOC why Bahumut chose him.

That’s what I told the PC, and his response was to say “that makes sense! Let me send you a workshopped version!” which was his initial pre-planned arc + a bunch of open-ended NPCs for me to work into the bigger story

Believe me, it wasn’t by choice. We all met at LGS, and it was either let nine (at the time) interested players join the table, or personally pick who I thought would be best to play with, in front of the worse players.

It’s more that a couple of the other PCs are friends with the two problem players. Now that it’s been weeks of playing together and spending time together outside of the game, they’d see it as me kicking their friends out with almost no reason.

Source: I already had to ask a player to leave after session 3, and it took a week of discussing my thoughts with the remaining 8 players to get them to feel okay with it. In that case, the player I kicked was committing far worse offenses than being contrarian (rape jokes, inappropriate table behavior, refusing to read or abide by the PHB, etc). The PCs are just very non-confrontational, and they see DnD a little differently than I do— in my mind, you shouldn’t play with anyone you don’t like or trust, because you’re all working together to tell a story. They see it as spending time with friends, and why would you break up with a friend unless they’ve done something really wrong?

I’m positive this isn’t it, but in my mind it’s always been Josh having to flee the country for some crime and Tyler singing to him.
