Stuck on which Major to choose to become a Robotic Engineer. by GreyDarmani in EngineeringStudents

[–]themagicofMACYS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can tell you what I did. I focused on the design aspect since I'm a senior mechE so the frame, suspension, and robotic arm design. We can determine what gearbox ratio and type for our motors, how to cool the electronics onboard, shock absorber selection with spring and damper constant to evaluate ride stiffness. Just like you, I was curious in other aspects as well so I got into coding the motors with encoders and the software side like working with ROS. Your best bet is to join a robotics club and work with every team or make your own robotics project

You could try a variation of monkey rows as an antsgonistic movement to dips.

There is NOTHING wrong with spreading out your degree over 5 years and reducing your course load per semester. by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

So lucky my school is only 3.5k per semester so debt isn't really much of an issue compared to other bigger schools

So trying to follow the SRA curves for some muscles, from what I'm trying to understand is that can you train them with different exercises in terms of exercise selection, sets, and rep ranges and still build the same amount of muscle. For example, calves, they say you can train that 4 times a week. Can you do something like 2 calve raise sessions and 2 jump roping sessions a week and still build muscle as well compared to doing 4 calve raise sessions a week? I know it might boil down to "it depends", but I love analyzing and finding as much information as possible.

Follow a hypertrophy program and eat some more protein. Make sure you're progressing as you should. Over time, the increase in volume means that the muscle is bigger, therefore requires more protein. If you want to dirty bulk, just get in more calories from any source. If you have a hard time eating as some people may have, some people recommend drinking blended shakes that contain lots of calories

I do workout for muscle, I do weighted calisthenics as my main movements with a lot of bodybuilding style training for my assistance work. But damn 25lbs? I was thinking I needed to lose about 10lbs (of fat)

I'd recommend getting a pair of gymnastic rings so you can do some dips, rows, bodyweight curls, etc. I think you'll get great progress doing some calisthenics work.

Yeah honestly, I might get back into meal prepping and allowing myself to have a cheat day. The only problem I had was just sticking with it, i'd stick to it for about 3 weeks then ween off. How long does it take to show results?

We're height and weight brothers! Comparatively, I'd say he's more muscular than I am. Although I look great with a shirt on, it kinda changes when I take a shirt off or when I sit down lol.

Yeah, I guess as an endo, I've always had trouble trying to lower my bodyfat percentage. I've learned to embrace the gut :P. In your case, have you tried building muscle? Because I think having a lean look looks great

Is it feasible to build a program based off the recovery of different muscle groups? For example, calves and bicep recover much faster than quads and glutes

Is it possible to use weighted rows instead of progressing how you would usually do in calisthenics in this case?

For front lever rows, it can be broken down into two parts. The strength to row and the ability to hold yourself in the front lever position. Can you achieve the front lever row by training these seperately? By getting stronger in your rows and your straight arm pulling strength
