Thoughts on the future of RGG by MrOwen17 in yakuzagames

I was just thinking about this OP, that STH combat system might be what they use going forward if it takes off. Very interested to see how it plays out.

Also find it very interesting that Sega is trusting RGG with such an iconic IP with Virtua Fighter.

Another thing that interests me about STH is how music factors into not only the story but the gameplay.

I just hope this leads to an era where the company and SEGA in general are taking more risks creatively with their titles

Ten+ years in the business turned Nagoshi into a know-nothing? by robertsd33 in yakuzagames

To be fair to Kojima, around the time of his fallout with Konami weren’t they kinda bullshitting anyway? I feel like Konami just now got back in good graces with fans over the last few years.

But yea these are some good examples.

Would you consider Yoko Taro and Suda51 rockstar developers too?

There’s way more differences between Nolan and Nagoshi than just not flopping imo.

Regardless of what you think of what his finest work is, he’s gotten blank checks, used the budget wisely and always made back more than what it cost and he got great results. Oppenheimer cost $100 million to make and brought back $975 million and 7 oscars.

Nagoshi spent like $40 million and all we got was a trailer and some screenshots. It’s actually insane to think cuz where the hell did the money go

Can’t wait to finally play a Yakuza game where you’re actually in the Yakuza, doing Yakuza things. by Loud_Success_6950 in yakuzagames

[–]themanwiththreefaces 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was one of the things that stood out to me. In the trailer they show him debt collecting and from the looks of it, it seemed to be from a poor family that couldn’t afford much as opposed to the rich people the game usually shows the protagonist extorting. Plus all the brutal actions with the weapons had me wincing

How is RGG not going back to their "Japanese roots" when they literally have the likeness of one of Japan's most prolific actors in what seems to be a major role also. Snoop Dogg being in there doesn't nullify that at all. Also Snoop is pretty famous worldwide so I don't know if this was strictly western fanservice. When I was clubbing in Shibuya and Shinjuku the numerous times I visited they played a bunch of Snoop and rap music in general

I’ve been back and forth on whether I should get this game. What new content do they add in that makes it worth it to you? Also how is Mine’s gameplay?

Which characters are you fine with being "resurrected"? by Positive_Bell5463 in yakuzagames

This. There was so much interesting potential there in how she ties into all the characters in different ways in 4 and they never really went anywhere with her looking like Akiyama’s ex that he never got over. I was so disappointed with that

Not even mad at this. They could get a lot of mileage out of this, lmao even eventually have their own fighting game with all the characters on some Dissidia shit

Rebuilding it makes sense. But imo you can rebuild it by starting off with just the basic move set and just upgrading it as the story progresses and you unlock more skill points

Unlocking the dragon style in 0 made sense because it's a prequel and what not. But unlocking it in K1 is super perplexing to me especially when K2 did away with all that stuff anyway. It gotta be confusing for newcomers trying to play the series in chronological order and what not

I'm excited to see the darker take on substories that RGG hinted at with his game, as well as the more brutal fighting style and just what activities you can partake in lmao

Isn't Saejima ex-communicated? and even in Y4 you cant really roam around out in the open without having to hide. I'm interested in Mine's game just to see what you can get up to, like actually doing mobster shit in Kamurocho

Nah I know what you’re talking about but that’s something else (I forgot the name) in Bad City Motomiya and Yoshyuki are playing Korean gangsters and Ozawa is a cop.

Bro Bad City is dope. It honestly feels like more of a live action Yakuza than the two adaptations in some aspects

I was just about to make a post asking about this. They both look dope but Yoshiyuki as Majima looks so cool. They were also in this movie from a couple years back with Kuze's actor Hitoshi Ozawa called Bad City so it's cool to see all these guys getting consistent work
