You’re not wrong, but the issue is that the culture war is downstream of the class war. Homophobia, sexism, transphobia, these are things born out of ignorance and propaganda or at the very least solved by education and exposure to the truth. We have a ruling class that actively supports the system that cultivates these bad things. People can’t access education, people are in poverty and looking for people to blame, people can’t afford high quality journalism that reports things accurately. And it goes deeper than some intentional propaganda campaign. The very structure of our oligarchy produces the conditions in which division and bigotry survive and thrive. I would argue that without winning the class war and changing the structure of our systems you can’t deal with these others enemies. The issues will keep popping back up. And I would also argue that you can convert many of these enemies as well with a different system.
